A weird thought crossed my mind about "Born Again" and season 3: maybe we'll see Fisk ruin Foggy's life.
See, we know from 2x10 that Fisk isn't just mad at Matt, he's mad at Foggy too. Nelson & Murdock as a whole contributed to Fisk's incarceration. In light of what happened at the end of The Defenders, I think that Fisk will make Foggy his main target: ruin his job, get him and/or Marci disbarred, firebomb his apartment, etc.
Plus, Fisk's desire to destroy Foggy would also make sense because then he's going after Matt on a much more intimate and personal level compared to if he attacked Matt directly. There's not much of Matt's life left for Fisk to ruin because Matt's got the hard work cut out for Fisk. And Foggy's life is a little too perfect. Something tells me that little perfect world Foggy has (big office, big bucks, seeing Marci naked after-hours) is short-term.
This is just one idea on how they could bring bigger swathes of Born Again into the show while also making large changes to the story in order to keep some level of anticipation/suspense.
I'll be honest, they already messed up the approach for a Born Again adaptation because one of the biggest things about it is the way Fisk dismantles Matt's life and apartment which leaves Matt to flounder and be found by his mother. By the end of The Defenders, Matt already doesn't have much of a career (when Born Again happened in the comics, he was already a well-known public figure) and by skipping this instance and having Matt already in that position at the convent, means if Fisk were to destroy his personal life, it'd be redundant or not have the same emotional impact. This is why I think they'd shift that "Fisk destroys Matt's life stuff" over to Foggy. (Redundancy is unfortunately becoming a problem with some of the Daredevil writing, as Elektra experienced during The Defenders).
