I never thought I would ever see a live action incarnation of my favourite DC hero, but then Flash 2014 pleasantly surprised me by including Ronnie Raymond, (and Martin Stein, and Jason Rusch.) It makes sense that Firestorm would be in Flash's series since after his first comic series was cancelled after 5 issues, his stories began being published in the back of Flash comics.

I found another pleasant surprise for Firestorm fans in the new Flash tv series. I noticed that the episodes that featured Firestorm consistently got higher ratings! Firestorm IS popular DC! Very soon DC is going to be rolling out a bunch of brand new comic series, and Firestorm's tv reception proves he should have a book among them!

Not that I have a problem with more Firestorm, because I don't, but correlation doesn't imply causation.

Ronnie/Firestorm appeared in some of the most important episodes of the season. The midseason finale, the midseason premiere, the first appearances of Grodd and Cold, the second Arrow crossover, etc. Major episodes where the main Reverse Flash plotline moved forward.

In fact it's probably more likely that they intentionally put Firestorm into episodes they knew would be the most watched. The effects are expensive, and they wanted to set up Legends of Tomorrow.

You also have to consider spring vs fall, sports preemptions, and tons of other factors that determine what people choose to watch on TV, or whether they choose to watch it at all.

Scarletspiderman, maybe you're right, maybe famicommander is right, but personnally I think Firestorm is a character that sucks and having him in the serie, honestly, it disutrbs me.
The new Firestrom Jason/Ronnie, in the comics, with a redish-er suit hoks me a bit more, but having him in the TV serie? Nope, it's a waste of time for me. I would have preferred to see Max MErcury, or Jay, or Jesse Quick, why not, I mean someone related to the speedforce, but Firestorm is 1/ too obscure for my taste, 2/ too unimportant in the DC universe, and 3/ IMO, he has no interest for me.
Bottom line, I can't even have fun watching him because he has no cool or any debatable-among-fans kind of suit. :(

Firestorm is much less obscure than any of the characters you listed besides Jay Garrick. And who said you weren't getting them? The show's just finished it's first season.

if he's so unimportant then why does he keep coming back to the Justice League? :whatever:

I'm well aware of that, but like I said, they're connected to the speed force and the flash comics. Bringing Firestorm in, is for me, just as silly as putting Elongated Man or Red Tornado.

No need for a whatever, we're just talking. My answer is : Because DC would want to push the character anyway ? Creators' own tastes ? Vixen was in the JL too, red arrow too... Being in the JL does not mean a thing. Like I said, he is an unimportant character to the DC universe, they don't bring him in because he's popular, there are more popular or more selling or more crucial characters in the DCU.

Firestorm has had a chance with his own book and it crashed and burned. I just don't think he works solo but better in a team dynamic book.
