Dumb joke out of the way, this IS pretty frakin' interseting. Well, except for the "possibly dead by 20" of course.

Though, if this is suppose to be some new evolutionary step, would everyone in the future, overall, have a shorter lifespan? Again, interesting.

I've heard one of the down sides to this is the fact that his growth is most likely going to be severely stunned, because of all the muscle mass not allowing him to gain any weight.

On the topic of real life X-Men: there's supposedly a kid in Asia that has eyes similar to a cat and can see in the dark.

Every instance of the word "leukordermia" (apparently the boys medical reason for having glow-eyes) on google is in reference to a boy who can see in the dark. Also my handy-dandy medical dictionary says that it's not an actual condition. There is a condition called "leukodermia" but it seems unrelated.
