I was pleased to see that HBO had reissued From the Earth to the Moon for streaming (apparently in advance of a Blu-Ray release). I’m happy to report that it’s still excellent. Highly recommended!
One thing that I’d forgotten (being years since I last watched this series), is how individual episodes are often presented in different styles and told from different points of view. Thus, there are stories about the astronauts, themselves; their wives; the politicians investigating the Apollo 1 accident; the engineers who built the lunar module; the reporters covering Apollo 13; etc. True, some of these episodes are stronger than others. But it’s all good stuff.
Special mention to the late, great Lane Smith - who gave a great performance as fictional TV reporter Emmett Seaborn.
Can’t say I was blown away by the HD remaster. But I suppose it was adequate.
