He's the current Mayor of San Francisco and is very loved around these parts. I'm very torn because I'm a huge supporter of Newsom but it's the friggin Governator he's against! And as a side note, saying this as a straight man, he's gotta be the most handsome politician I've ever seen.

Oh, nevermind. Arnold's time is up. Didn't realize there was a limit.

The thing he's most famous for was illegally legalizing same-sex marriacge in San Francisco for a short time. All of which were later annulled by the California Supreme Court.

He appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show tonight. He had some good things to say about the Govenator. Newson said once Arnold got into office he became more moderate and progressive, especially when it came to his support of the stimulus package. He saw "reality" said Newsom.

Oh yeah, he also announced his run for governor.

I just can't see Newsom getting the nomination because of the gay marriage debacle in San Fransisco. And based on the polls he's going to lose the primaries quite easily to Jerry Brown and Dianne Feinstein.

I was living in CA when he took office in San Francisco....he came into the job following the departure of Willie Brown, who was seriously popular and got people to really support him. Yes the gay marriage weekend was probably not smart, but he did do it on a three day weekend so the opposition couldn't even get into court to do anything until the following Tuesday. There's some rumor that soon after taking office he took certain members of the city council to the worst places in the city after some BS discussion about broken streetlights in Nob Hill
