Chicago North Shore Line rail accident between Harrison Street and Wabash Avenue on May 24, 1953
Railway installations destroyed in bombing raids in Trappes, near Paris.; 1944
Seriously, how do you not look down the track - see that it's plowing through that much snow and get your butt well away from the track before it reaches you? All I can think of is 'ouch' (and that feels like a severe understatement)
As for my contribution.... I'm a bit biased because I have a family member that works for WRC (the company that did the restoration on the car)... but a video from a while back on the restoration and the move of a Jim Crow era segregated car to the basement of the National Museum of African American History and Culture (also includes a bit on a guard tower as well because the car and the tower had to be installed while the building was still under construction) - btw - bet you had no idea you could shrink wrap a train car did ya? :
That was an interesting video....thanks. I live in Kentucky....so seeing that the railcar was restored here was cool. My wife and I were checking out several train ride trips a couple of years ago and we almost took the one that starts there in Stearns.
