Get on board the Train, rail, locomotive and train modelling thread

If you’re looking for something new, I definitely recommend the stopping all stations podcast. It’s about the Melbourne transport network and it’s pretty fun and informative

My greatest idea ... Start with a dual (nuclear) engine train car ...put it on a piece of track a foot longer than the train ... Then put both engines in reverse (alternating as quickly as possible) at maximum speed ...both track ends will be buffered(think super shock absorbers) just in case ....I hope/expect the car to become blurry.

Is that realistic under the given parameters? If not what alteration(s) should be made?

Thanx in advance

ha, no idea but I’ll definitely think about it!

by the way, did anyone get a chance to check this show out? I thought it was fun but a bit up itself. Suits sydney though

That’s so cool. My grandfather used to work on the railways and dad said he could hear the trains at night when he was going to sleep. Some people wouldn’t like that but I used to think it was super cool

Falls into the train category. Just south of Pittsburgh is a trolley museum. You can buy a ticket to drive them
