For some reason only pop girls can voice Smurfette? First Katy Perry. Than Demi Lovato....now Riri?

Based on the characters of Belgian comics writer and artist Peyo, the movie was described at the time as a comedic, musical adventure “that sets out to answer one of life’s biggest questions: What is a Smurf?” The film, set to be released on Feb. 14, 2025, is being directed by Chris Miller (Puss in Boots) with co-director Matt Landon.

Corden a **** magnet. Ever since Cats. We have to get rid of him. He was good on Doctor Who and in Into The Woods, but most everything else since has been junk AT BEST.

That reminds me of a video I watched recently of someone who did the end credit sequence for the Sonic 3 film, and there was a little section where he mentioned that the executives in charge absolutely required that the characters at one point need to be shown dancing. They didn’t give any reason, they just liked seeing characters dancing.

I wonder if that’s why there’s always at least a dance and/or musical number or two in animated films and hire popular singers. The old people in charge are just weirdly obsessed with watching cartoon characters sing and dance.
