Giant LEGO Man Appears On Florida Beach

Clearly an Alien Species is hiding here on Earth waiting for the right time strike & to pass the time they are making Giant Lego Men & sending them out to certain beaches to warn that state that they are coming. It's diabolical

To quote Family Guy (forgive me)

Peter: You got Legos? Aw, sweet! Lois only buys me Mega Bloks.
Lois: They're the same thing, Peter.
Peter: You know what, Lois? They are not the same thing. And the sooner you get that through your thick skull, the sooner we can get this marriage back on track.

:funny: I don't know what Peter was complaining about. The medieval Mega Bloks kick ass over their Lego counterparts.

My experience with Mega Bloks is that they're a cheaper material that doesn't let the bricks snap together as well as LEGO. I'd also find it hard to believe their medieval sets top what LEGO has produced in that category the last 20+ years.

 :hehe:

On a serious note, I guess it's a matter of preference. The Lego Knights are more like poseable toy soldiers, whereas the Mega Bloks Knights are more like small action figures. I like the more textured design because it reminds me of the old Crossbows and Catapaults game and those awesome Toyco/DFC medieval playsets of my childhood.

Of course, if I was a billionaire and chose to re-start my collection today, I would fill an entire antechamber full of Schleich and Schleich-compatible miniatures. That toyline has longevity that I can't believe.

Yeah, I can buy that as a reason for choosing Mega Bloks, their action figure style. LEGO figs could stand to be a bit bigger I think. I actually like to put a 1x1 plate at the bottom of the legs of some of my LEGO figures as "shoes" to make them appear taller and more in proportion to the upper body. And yes, that is absolutely the nerdiest thing I have ever said. :o

I like the creativity you get with LEGO though, the Mega Bloks sets don't look like they allow it as much. Being able to build a LEGO collection fairly cheap using ebay or yard sales doesn't hurt either.

Dude, we're engaging in a 2-way dialogue about Lego vs. Megabloks. We passed "nerdiest" about 3 exits ago.
