Okay, so there has been alot of comments from all over the place and discussion about how pants this decades music is compared to other decades.

But is it true?

So I've set out a challange. You can post a youtube video from any decade you wish, but try to find good to great songs of this decade so we can see how it compares to previous decades.

So the 90's. I could go on all day about the 90's

REM - Losing My Religion

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7vs21ZKrKM

Tracy Chapman - Fast Car

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbnpdik78Uo

Radiohead - Paranoid Android

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8asQsfn82E

New Order - Temptation

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xezmxnScGS4

Bruce Springsteen-Streets Of Philadelphia

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L9_8vwx2w8

And the 80's. ****, the 80's is a damned treasure trove of good music.

David Bowie - Life On Mars

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueUOTImKp0k

Queen- Somebody to Love

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxbFLYa0_bw

The Cure - Lovesong

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4SZhumbv0s

The Smiths - This Charming Man

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGnjrTkv1gs

****. Let's face it. This decade can't compare. I haven't even touched on a fraction of the goodness of those decades, and I'm not even gonna bother going into the 60s and 70s. Go ahead. Prove me wrong. And feel free to post videos from other decades too.

I think that when 10's hit, the younger generation will praise the music of the 00's. It's a cycle that has and forever will repeat themselves. The way I look at it, I just accept music for what it is, ever-changing.

i think this song and video is great

oh and when i was looking for that one i found this one of theirs, from the 90's which is beautiful. i think it was the original video, but MTV or someone thought audiences would like it, so they came out with a bunch of other cool ones, but i think the original is best

Just five of the best songs of the 90's...

Haha, but on the down low, say what you want about these, but as a 90's kid, there will always be apart of me that likes 90's pop. You 80's punks (you have your fair share of crappy 80's music that you still like), and music snobs from before the 80's just can't relate. :o

This thread is kind of pointless really. Comparing music from different decades doesn't work as its a matter of taste. I could put links for lots of bands or artists from this decade or any other that I like but it doesn't prove that those bands and artists are better than those from other decades.

But anyway I'm gonna post some artists from this decade that I do like just for the hell of it. I don't really care if others like that artists or not as again its indvidual taste.

yah that song is great, might be their best

This is a great song, but the best is either "Somebody Told Me," "Jenny Was A Friend of Mine," or "Midnight Show."

Hot Fuss >>> Sam's Town

Er, Run is by Snow Patrol.

Also, I think The Killer's Hot Fuss is a more rounded album, but I think Sam's Town has better individual songs.

When You Were Young is their best song, IMO.

This is all the kind of stuff that explempifies what is wrong with music these days. No offense.

Too many bands with cheesy guitar riifs and bad singers. And they're all practically indestinguishable from each other. There are about a thousand bands these days that all sound like they have the same guitarist. I think you posted two bands that don't fall into that sort of thing. But yeah, way too many bands playing the exact same kind of guitar tunes.

That Test Icles song was particularly awful. Holy ****, I find it hard to believe people actually like that crap.

I like this song by Sigor Ros. If I listen to Sigor Ros too much, I start to get a little annoyed. But yeah, they're good. This song here is filled with so much emotion. I first heard the song when it was played in that movie The Life Aquatic in a real nice scene.

Sigor Ros - Staralfur

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x6rcPRt7sjA

That song alone makes Snow Patrol look like the **** ass pansies they are.

Another good 00's song. This song is in the intro to the great movie Dead Man's Shoes, which you all really ought to see. This guy's video is filmed around the location that Dead Man's Shoes was filmed.

Smog - Vessel In Vain

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOLMiQsZhLI

Not all the music I like is sad and depressing!

I really want to hear the first part of the murder trilogy Leave The Bourbon On The Shelf. Its gonna be on their B-side album Sawdust coming out this christmas apparently.

Trick question. Good music doesn't exist in the 00's.
