The site's been around for a while, but since it's been linked from the new Gotham cable news site, this may become important, and I didn't see a dedicated thread. Here's the update:

******
Gotham City Rail Announces Satellite Tracking and Communications System

To better serve our customers, GCR has completed its transition to a satellite tracking and communications system (STCS). Using cutting edge ultra high frequency technology, STCS will give GCR the real-time ability to track exact positioning of all its trains. This will allow for more accurate scheduling and should increase GCR's already impressive safety record.
*******

Most likely it's an easter egg that'll only come up in the movie as a cool thing for ARG participants, but just in case it leads somewhere (and so that we can track what's new and what isn't)

My opinion is "google maps, DOUBLE TRUE!" we'll be using GCR, jeah!

How did we not have a thread for this before?

I'm glad to see GCR is updating their systems ...this city deserves a better class of mass transit. :o

The updates on the site are so minute they are hardly noteworthy.

looking at that map, i realized that Im registered to vote in Gainsly, which is where Wayne central is. cool.

The City Rail has links in almost all the sites now. With all the muggings and construction perhaps something will happen to it again?

Yeah, if there are links in several sites now, probably the City Rail site will play a major role in the next game or at least as a source for clues and information. That's what I think.

Under timetables, you get the message:

"Due to the service outages, timetable information is not available on this site.
Please check your local station for a current timetable."

Any idea where local stations might be located? I tried a few versions of http://www.gothamcityrail.com/stevensburgh for example and couldn't find anything. Wonder if this might be updated Friday.

Shocking there was no thread for this.

Does anyone have a cached page of this site from yesterday? There was a link yesterday where you could send feedback to them, and I sent them an email asking for a copy of the new timetable, since my local station did not have any. Today the link is not there. The link was at the bottom of the page, right below the GCR logo. I have not received a reply to my email, nor a kickback saying it was undeliverable.

I don't have a cached page, but I just checked and at the very bottom of the screen is a feedback email. I sent one to that address and recieved a very quick reply.

We'll undoubtedly need the map for the next chunk of the viral games if it's updated, if even slightly, and linked everywhere. They clearly want us to pay attention to it.

Yes, I agree, and I think that whole satellite tracking stuff or whatever is going to be of some importance.

Gotham Girl Guides keeps popping up too, a lot of references to it. I am at work though, and that site is blocked from me (sounds like pornography I guess) so hopefully it is not involved.

I just checked it out and it shows up parked at goDaddy, but no site up...At least not that I've been able to find. From what I've found, it seems to be Gotham's version of the Girl Scouts. Dana Worthington talked about how she and her sister were Gotham Guides as kids...

I was looking at the time table page on the City Rail site. I just noticed under the text telling you to check you local station for times you can see a map of Jerold. As far as I know that map background was never there before. It was always a blank page with the same message. Any ideas or has it always been that way?

It's been that way for a long time - as a matter of fact if you refresh the page, that background will change - there are 6 (I think) different backgrounds.

Also note that when you refresh that page it takes you to different parts of the map around the river. But not the entire city after a while the background repeats.

What I always found strange about those backgrounds was the name they were given in the Source Code...

Has this been disscused before, because I can't even remember seeing those pics.

I think it may have been - but I honestly don't remember.
