Green Lantern The Animated Series Footage

Well sure, it's supposed to be geared towards kids. What kind of animation would you prefer? Haha they can't really go the Batman: The Red Hood route, with blood and all that. XD Although I have to say, I greatly prefer the flat animation to that 3D-ish crap they try to use all the time.

Why do you think they have to use blood just because of the animation style? That does'nt make any sense.

They could use that animation style without blood or make it look like "Emerald Knights.

I like what I'm seeing for this series. It seems to me that there's a new trend, and it's bashing all things GL. A lackluster film, to some, and suddenly that makes them doubt Bruce EFF-ing Timm? That's kind of crazy to me. Considering his track record.

This show is going to knock it out of the park with a giant glowing green baseball bat, and the critics will be eating their hats.

Also, criticizing the animation on the premise that it "looks like the Incredibles" is kind of funny. Timm's style precedes, and was no doubt partial inspiration, for the Incredibles and on top of that... the Incredibles was, well, incredible!

I agree with DaveMoral. I'm super excited about this series. Bruce Timm is the bomb.

Love the opening that was released but this animation style is gonna take some getting use to.

I'm kinda hyped about this GL cartoon not that I'm really a GL fan but Bruce Timm is involved and he has the Midas touch.

im hoping for more glc than just gl. i always liked seeing the different corps members doing their jobs on various worlds.

This show looks fun to me. I like the Incredibles-esque look of this series where the CGI mixed with Bruce Timm's character designs gives it a modern yet retro look reminiscent of the classic stop-motion animation of Rankin/Bass, instead of just rehashing the standard look that Bruce Timm's Justice League had or the overdone anime look. I will be watching this series.

Looks cool to me. I really like seeing Hal with the classic white gloves in this TV series. And as the animated Bruce Timm produced movies like Batman: Year One attest, Bruce Timm isn't abandoning 2D animation, he's just giving us something different with this Green Lantern series.

I'm looking forward to it even more after reading that informative review.

I really enjoyed the premiere, and my only issue with it is that we have to wait until spring to get more episodes.

The pilot didn't grab me all that much. It lacked that feel the DCAU had. The animation was far too flat and rubbery, and the story was just bland. It didn't have the intrigue of Batman or the epicness of JL. Also, did it really need to take a cue from Star Trek: Voyager and an extremely recent storyline and not fully explore the GL lore? I can only imagine they went that direction in order to avoid any conflicts with the movie-verse (assuming they even make a sequel), especially since they were asked not to use Sinestro I've read.

I'll give it a chance with a few more eps, but ultimately I don't think I'll be sticking around for this series if it remains like this.

I loved it. The only problem I had was the animation, which is slowly growing on me.

It'll be worth the wait.

I know it will.

I've been seeing a lot of people saying "it's growing on me." I have to admit, I wasn't sold on the animation either until I watched the special premiere. It's really, really cool. On par with "The Clone Wars" (another show I enjoy). I'm excited to see where this show goes, and think it is a worthy entry (or companion) to the DCAU.

Saw it last night. Enjoyed it besides the animation. It still looks off to me.

Oh, and I actually liked Hal.

This was good. I liked the animation style and overall story. They definitely struck the right balance between lighthearted and serious.

I said this in the official Green Lantern thread but wow that was a boring opening. And did anyone else think the Red Lanterns were just all wrong?

So I saw Foo Fighters last night (Dave goddamn Grohl pointed at me!) so I missed it when it aired. I got home, my body was sore from standing in one place getting bumped around for 6 hours. I found it online (it wasn't OnDemand and I don't have a DVR) and collapsed onto my bed and watched it. Forgot all about the soreness from the distraction caused by the pure awesomeness of this pilot. :yay:
