This was made by me in After Effects:

original footage from the movie 300... behind the scenes.

COLOR KEYED blue backround

now im not able to remove that itty bitty blue line around him....

Final version

the "blue line" is still there.... but the best i could do is cheat by making the blue line dark black and fade out.
i know its a great solution.... but when i start keying close ups and stuff... that solution might not work as well.
and there always those little spots of blue (which are now black) that will eventually appear.

yeah all the keying effects in AE suck...or just always leave a tiny blue or green lining around w/e is being screened.

i heard keylight was a good plug-in... where can i get it....free?

Nice work.

I've found Discreet Combustion to be very effective for keying. And Digimation Nuke is also supposed to be great for compositing. They used Nuke for King Kong and several other recent big budget films.

is that a seperate program from AE?

I'm talking about it doesn't look like an actual location. Looks like the background is CGI and the actor was added in front of it.
