Basically you try and guess what issue the picture is in just by looking.

if you win, scan in a random comic pic and see if anyone can righfully guess what issue that picture is from.

if you are unaware of the actual issue numbers, then you can look at spiderfan.org in order to get your proper bearings.

For the moment, let's just keep it to spidey core titles but pics are welcome from any comic, from asm to ultimate and etc.

what is this issue about and when does this panel occur in it?

Pete is stuck in his own timeline, and has to work to the present. He glimpses at both his past and future, rewitnessing himself getting bitten by the spider. When the spider bites Peter (the younger one) it shows them back to back screaming. Spidey is in a nearby closet in this panel and in a very similar pose to that one.

so it's post clone saga, and pre-reboot.

and he has his spidey costume so it is either before or after his identity crisis when he was wearing four different costumes.

edit: it's definitely before identity crisis..
