After having to put up with HTC Hero's lack of internal memory for games (since its SD card isn't rooted to the phone), I've been downloading many gaming apps for my iPhone 4S. It's nice to see EA reducing many of their games to $.99 to celebrate the release of the latest iPhone, which I took advantage of by purchasing RISK and Tetris. Since there is no threads about games we download to our mobile phones, tablets, and handheld (that isn't by Nintendo), I'd like to know what apps you guys downloaded, for either iPhone or Android, and what games you would recommend as good buys.

So far, the paid apps on my iPhone included:

-Plants vs Zombies
-RISK
-Bejeweled 2
-Tetris
-Knights
-Sally's Spa (for my wife)

I have free games too, such as:

-Angry Bird
-UNO (free version)
-Texas Poker
-Early Bird
-Slamdunk King
-Rock Band (free version)

Scribblenauts Remix just came out for iOS a week or so ago. It's a good mix of the DS games, and works really well with the touch screen.

I got my iPhone this past weekend and went crazy downloading games

I was thinking about getting Scribblenauts, because I heard that it was a great game on DS, but is it worth its $4.99 price tag?

Yeah, I realize 4.99 is a lot in the App store, but it's crazy cheap in the real game market. It's a little short, but totally worth 5 bucks.

Another great game is Cut the Rope, definitely one of my favorites.

Tower Madness is one of my favorite games. An awesome tower defense game, that gets updated with new maps all the time.

Thanks, I'll think about it.

Is it free, and if not what's the price on App Market?

I think it was $0.99, although you could buy a few "map packs" and weapons for an additional $0.99 a piece, I think overall I spent about $7 for everything the game has to offer. The amount of playtime I've gotten out of it was more than worth the price though, especially since the updates always have new maps and upgrades to weapons at no extra cost.

- Tiny Wings

- Fruit Ninja

- Zombie Farm

- Doodle Jump

- Angry Birds

- Doodle Pool

These are pretty much a staple for iDevice/other smartphone gamers. xD

Spider-man Total Mayhem. I just bought it on sale for 99 cents a few days ago. Its REALLY good for a Spiderman game on a phone

Tiny Tower has no right to be as fun as it is. It's free in the app store but you can spend real money if you want to speed things along.

I like the Spider-man Total mayhem also. I have some great games on my PSP...

Motorstorm: Arctic Edge
Patapon 3
God of War: Ghost of Sparta
Socom Fireteam bravo 3
Little Big Planet
Madden 11
NBA 2k11

I downloaded a few more games, like Angry Bird and Fruit Ninja (both $0.99 each). I have Marvel's Kapow! free version, but is it worthwhile to get the full version?

Cut the Rope is amazing! I love going back to levels and figuring out the trick to get 3 stars as fast as possible.

On my Bionic, I have 8pen World Cup (mostly to see how 8pen works), Angry Birds, Angry Birds Rio, Angry Birds Seasons, Bonsai Blast (zuma clone), Break the Bricks, Bunny Shooter (like Angry Birds, I recommend it), Fruit Ninja, Greedy Spiders, Sudoku, Tetris, and Solitaire.

Nyan Cat: Lost in Space - You need to download this for the theme song alone...trust me on that!
Jump Pack
Paper Ninja
Mexiball
Cat Physics
Mr. AahH!!
Puzzle Birds
Sneezies

I bought this game a while back when it was on sale for $0.99. It's a very good port of the game, considering that it's on an I-device. This version is not unlimited though, as it will stop the game after a certain number of turns.

Just a heads up but theres a massive sale going on with iOS games today in honor of Veterans Day. Among the notable titles are Scribblenauts Remix, Peggle, Street Fighter IV, Lara Croft: Guardian of Life and many more, all for 99 cents

If you are an Android owner, make sure to go to Amazon and download their App store. They give away a paid app for free everyday. For example, I got Plants Vs Zombies and Cut the Rope for free. Today it is Lets Bowl Deluxe, which is usually $2.99.

The one caveat is that everything is tied to that Amazon App Store App. Delete that and you can't use the apps you got there.

The Android Market has 10 apps for 10 cents each right now. Minecraft is one of them.

I love Swiftkey, so that is a great deal as well. Also, Fieldrunners is a fun Tower Defense game. There will be a new set of 10 apps each day, so get them now if you want these.
