HARDCORE - "World's first" 1st person action movie (w/Sharlto Copley)

And if it's a hit, Hollywood will soon try to make more stuff like this.

At a nearby theme park they had a theater with those moving/rumbling seats that went along with a James Bond short film that was shot in POV. This was in the mid-to-late 90s. It was pretty bad ass but I'm not sure I can take a full length movie. Still, will give the filmmakers credit.

It looked good and I have no problem with FP perspective but I'm not sure how much of an audience they will be able to get either. They definitely need a "side kick" like Sharlto Copley though to keep it from getting boring or too disengaging.

Looks insanely cool. I'm there.

I just hope Hollywood doesn't go too overboard with the knockoffs. Although, imagine a superhero movie like this.:hmr:

Looks like a $#!t ton of fun.

This looks insane. I totally thought Haley Bennett was Jennifer Lawrence when I saw the trailer the other day.

Does anyone else think that most of the action scenes (in the trailer) are very disorienting?

I'll eat a lot of creamed corn and egg salad before seeing this. It'll be like playing Russian roulette.

Yeah, it's definitely gonna be an acquired taste. I'm sure a lot of brats will be dying to see it due to the whole FPS thing they were weaned on.

I saw the premiere at SXSW and I have to say it's surprisingly fun.

Copley's character really makes the movie.

He dies repeatedly and respawns as different dudes. One of them is literally a riff on Captain Price from Call of Duty (the WWII one) and he even appears in a Chernobyl-esque setting.

It does get tiring though, 'cause it's straight up action for 95 minutes. There are a few twists and turns that keep it entertaining, and the humor's generally on point.

Also Copley was pretty hilarious at the premiere. He and the producer gave a guy who asked the best question at the Q&A a GoPro, then proceeded to shout, "And you get a GoPro! And you! And you!" Unfortunately no one believed him haha.

Yeah, I considered that. All the kids and adult children amped up and pumping their legs with wide eyes during action scenes, high on Mtn. Dew.

Still wanna see it. I imagine just like you're going to Turtles 2 despite the crowd. ;)
