Adaptation of DeLillo's football novel planned.
by Orlando Parfitt, IGN UK

UK, November 9, 2007 - Josh Hartnett and Sam Rockwell have signed up for an adaptation of Don DeLillo's rebellious novel End Zone.

End Zone is based in the world of Texas college football (or as we Brits call it, American Football), and Hartnett will star as the gifted running back struggling to acclimatise to stardom. Rockwell, meanwhile, will play the college's excitable publicist.

Kat Dennings, most famous for playing the teenage daughter who walks in on Steve Carell and Catherine Keener having sex in The 40 Year Old Virgin, will play Hartnett's love interest.

George Ratliff, who has co-written the script and will direct, told Variety, "End Zone is such a subversive novel that I always saw a movie in it."
