Switch and PC versions playable at E3 2017.

Natsume and Rising Star Games have announced Harvest Moon: Light of Hope for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC.

The new game promises to “encompass twenty years of spirit that has made the franchise what it is today.”

It will be playable on Switch and PC at the Natsume booth at E3 2017 from June 13 to 15.

Here’s an overview of the game, via Natsume:
About
In Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, players begin the game as they set out looking for a fresh start and new surroundings. During their voyage, their ship is hit by a monsoon and goes down. As they drift into a small harbor town, now in a shambles from the storm, it will be up to the player to help rebuild the town and save the lighthouse…but it won’t be easy! Nevertheless, with some hard work growing crops, tending livestock, and gathering materials for repairs, players will be able to make new friends, start a family, revive the lighthouse, and save the town!

Hiro Maekawa, President & CEO of Natsume
“Harvest Moon: Light of Hope will set itself apart from other Harvest Moon titles with its depth, including a robust story and clear-cut goals. We set out to create a SNES-style nostalgic game with deep and meaningful characters and events, and we are excited to have our fans play it at E3 and tell us what they think!”

Martin Defries, Managing Director, Rising Star Games
“Partnering with Natsume for over a decade, we’ve been delighted to bring the joyful gameplay of Harvest Moon to fans in Europe and beyond. We are excited to be part of the unveiling of Harvest Moon: Light of Hope at E3″.
A release window was not announced.

A look at one of the game's new features.

Natsume has released the first in a series of “Feature Spotlight” videos for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. This one introduces the game’s rebuilding aspect.

Here’s an overview of rebuilding from producer Taka Maekawa:
Hi, everyone! My name is Taka, and I’m the producer for Harvest Moon titles here at Natsume Inc. Today, we’re kicking off the first in a series of Feature Spotlights for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, a new title coming to PC, PS4, and Switch!

One of the exciting new features in Harvest Moon: Light of Hope is the rebuilding aspect of the game. Since you’ve landed on an island that’s been hit by a severe storm, most of the buildings have been destroyed when you first arrive. Therefore, it’s your job to rebuild them so that the villagers who used to reside there will return to the island.

Rebuilding will start out fairly easy. For example, Sam the merchant’s house will only require a few pieces of lumber to rebuild. However, as you proceed through the game, the more challenging the items to rebuild the various buildings across the island will be to acquire!

And in addition to houses, you’ll need to repair things like bridges that were also damaged in the storm to access new and interesting areas!

Rebuilding is just one of the new and returning features in Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. Stay tuned as we reveal more exclusive content about the first Harvest Moon game for PC, Switch, PlayStation 4 being published in North America by Natsume Inc. and in Europe by Rising Star Games.
Harvest Moon: Light of Hope is due out for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC this fall.

Natsume's latest Harvest Moon focuses on speedier gameplay.

The second in Natsume’s series of “Feature Spotlight” videos for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope introduces the game’s farming enhancements.

Here’s an overview of rebuilding from producer Taka Maekawa:
Hi again, everyone! Taka here. I’m the producer for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope. Today, we’re showing off the second in our series of Feature Spotlights for Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, a new title coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch!
Today, I’d like to focus on the farming enhancements coming in Light of Hope. As you can see from the video, we’re focusing on speeding up gameplay, with the ability to till, sow, and water your crops faster than ever!
But the big exciting feature we’d like to focus on is your Farming Friend! What’s that, you ask? Well, it’s an icon that will appear after you sow, water, or fertilize your crops to let you know if you’re raising them at their full potential!
And that’s not all! One of the best things about your Farming Friend is that after you’ve harvested a crop, your Farming Friend will now display exactly what crop you’ll be harvesting! No more guessing in case you forgot exactly where you planted what crops. And what’s more, if your Farming Friend displays a question mark over a crop you’ve already harvested, like a strawberry, you’ll know that you’ve succeeded in producing a MUTATED crop! Awesome!
In short, your Farming Friend is designed to make Harvest Moon: Light of Hope more user friendly and fun to play.
We hope the Spotlight Feature video sheds a little more “light” on this exciting new change to farming, and we look forward to seeing you again in our next Spotlight Feature segment!
Happy Farming~
