HBO Orders Steve McQueen's 'Codes Of Conduct' as Limited Series
12:02 PM PDT 3/20/2015 by Michael O'Connell

Starring Devon Terrell, Paul Dano, Helena Bonham Carter and Rebecca Hall, it will get a six-episode run.

HBO and Steve McQueen are moving forward with Codes of Conduct. A year and a half after they partnered to develop a drama pilot for the pay cable network, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that HBO has handed out a six-episode order for a limited series.

Per the deal, the 12 Years a Slave helmer will direct each of the six episodes — which also has Matthew Michael Carnahan on as co-writer and Russell Simmons executive producing with Iain Canning, Emile Sherman and Alan Poul.

Codes of Conduct centers on a young African-American man with a mysterious past, who emerges on the scene in New York high society. The series stars Devon Terrell, Paul Dano, Helena Bonham Carter and Rebecca Hall.

The Codes of Conduct order is not unlike the original deal for True Detective, which started out as a limited series but was later renewed as an anthology.

Steve McQueen you say? Well, count me in!

Steve McQueen is a busy guy. McQueen also has that Black Britons show for the BBC he is developing.

I've been waiting for more news on this series. McQueen is one of my favourite directors, as well as Derek Cianfrance. Both directors have great taste in imagery - utilizing Sean Bobbitt as cinematographer on their films. Bobbitt's attached to this series as well. I have watched McQueen's work repeatedly for years.

6 hours of McQueen? I'm going to be in heaven.

HBO Reportedly Scraps Steve McQueen's 'Codes of Conduct' Amid "High-Class Problems"

Because Vinyl, which had a big name cast and producers (Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese), flopped HBO is having financial difficulties

Cancelled what was supposed to be a 6 ep mini-series by Steve McQueen about a young lower-class black man who cons his way into high-society

Was set to star newcomer Devon Terrell, Rebecca Hall, Helena Bonham-Carter and Paul Dano

A pilot was shot and hopefully it will surface at some point

Described as Six Degrees Of Separation meets Shame.

Shame. This sounds better than what Vinyl has become.
