The Hollywood Reporter says Tom Pabst has been hired to adapt Joe Hill's upcoming novel Heart-Shaped Box for Warner Bros. Pictures. Akiva Goldsman is producing via his Weed Road.

The novel is a supernatural thriller about a rock star who collects occult artifacts and bids online for a ghost that leads him into the Deep South. There, he must confront his past in order to escape the haunting.

Hill is the son of horror guru Stephen King and wrote an award-winning collection of short stories titled "20th Century Ghosts."

How come Stephen King's son's last name is Hill?

King isn't Stephen's real last name. :o

:joke:

Edit: After making that comment I looked up his kid's names:
Their three children, Naomi Rachel, Joe Hill (who appeared in the film Creepshow), and Owen Phillip.

It's great to see his son following in his footsteps.

His name is Joe Hill King, but maybe he skipped King because he just wanted to make a name on his own and not become famous as just Stephen King's son.

He has also written a Spider-Man story published in Spider-Man Unlimited 8

It seems all of the children leave off their last names for "stage" names. Nothing really new there.

so at the end of this movie does the rock star become really famous, marry courtney love and then "commit suicide"?
