Anyone have any experience of this? How would you be able to detect whether any bugs have been planted in your home/ on your belongings, or whether any GPS tracking devices have been affixed to your car?

The tracking device is more likely to be one which wouldn't have allowed much time to plant it, so presumably it would've had to have been slipped on quickly, not hidden in an engine etc.

How can you find these without the need for purchasing expensive equipment to detect these?

Are you a paranoid conspiracy theorist or do you have a serious reason to believe that you have actually been bugged?

I think they use radio frequencies, so what you will need is a RFID reader or detector.

This site might help:

That site didn't make too much sense to me actually.

The latter, which I won't go into. But it's more the tracking at the moment with a stalker who is able to show up wherever I am and will taunt about knowing my whereabouts. The bugs are to do with certain private conversations that no-one else would know, but the stalker somehow knows and can give details of these.

And you know the saying: just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you.

We're bugged all the time, we just don't realize it. Your phone is a tracking device. RFIDs are used to track and ID cars, merchandise, even pets.

They can be manufactured as small as a grain of rice. Some devices were made to detect them , but the federal gov't has made it illegal, expensive, and difficult to acquire them. RF transmitters are used to bug cars and offices by law inforcement and for politicial espionage.

As for somebody tracking you, I'd be concerned with your cell phone virus, or a rat feeding somebody information. RFID and other radio transmitters are for the big boys.
