I found an iPod!!

lol My brother ran across the same thing. He gave some drunk people a ride home from a bar one night and some girl left her ipod in his car, he tried for weeks to figure out who it was but never figured it out. So, I traded him some tattoo work for it. A real nice one with video and all that jazz. Its been a couple months and still no word from the would be owner, so me thinks its time to delete their crappy rap and pop music and load that baby with some metal.

Did you try hooking up to iTunes and getting a serial number?

i dont think the dude has done anything wrong. he found an ipod with no way of knowing who the owner is in order to return it. turn it into the cops? why? no one is going to go to a police station and treat it as a lost and found, asking for their lost items. it'll either just sit there and eventually get snagged up by someone else.

He didn't do anything wrong by taking it, but he should at least an effort, however futitle, to return it. How would you like to be out of 250 bucks? "Finders Keepers" and "It's their fault for losing it" are just excuses to try to make it morally right. "It would be impossible to find the original owner" is also just an excuse of laziness. There are many ways one could go about doing it. Some have been mentioned in this thread. Yeah, it may take time out of your "normal life", but whatever happened to helping your fellow man?

I think to pick it up and not even attempt to find out who it belongs to is just wrong. But everyone has to do what they morally think is right and that is not the same for everyone.
