It's my girlfriend and her two best friends. I would like to impress them.
I'm by no means an excellent cook. I just get by with following easy directions.
I would love to make a good impression and "Wow" them with something simple, yet elegant.
In other words, no Mac N' Cheese, Hot Dogs, Burgers, or Spaghetti.
Something a little impressive.

Anybody got any wildcard recipes up their sleeves?
I would GREATLY appreciate it. Please! I would be very grateful.

And, while it would be humorous and fun to respond with sarcastic, joke suggestions, I would really like some serious, helpful answers.:yay::yay:

Peppers stuffed with cheese and bacon. Bake in tin foil in the oven.

With a Chicken Caesar Salad.

Easy to make, yet impressive.

Do whatever Robin Williams did in that one scene in Ms.Doubtfire.

You could try something from here...

If I don't make spaghetti, I make my own version of chicken alfredo.

1. Get some chicken, cut them up into pieces, and cook it with whatever seasoning you want.

2. Get whatever type of pasta you feel like and cook that. I don't actually use fettuccine. Something like rigatoni or penne. Whatever you feel like.

3. Boil up some frozen vegetables.

4. Mix up the pasta, chicken, vegetables, and alfredo sauce (I use Classico) in a backing pan/tray for about 30 minutes.

5. And you're done.

Can't tell you anything about amounts since I don't measure anything. I just eyeball it or use whatever amount of each ingredient that I feel like using.

I guess you could add some side dishes to make it more elegant.

I say go with something unique and unexpected. What would work for me would be Sushi (Like a good California Roll or a Dragon Roll.) and salad. If you have a store with a Sushi bar just buy a few choices of Sushi Rolls. In fact, maybe this is what i'll be getting for lunch today...

Beans on toast.

Job done.

Grill some steaks.

I usually season them with salt, pepper, garlic spice and a tablespoon of soy sauce.

It's easy to bake a potato. You can google that.

Then if you want to prepare a can of corn, that's easy too.

No I think he meant, light his breasts on fire.

Let me get this straight... Your gonna have three woman in the house and not one of THEM is doing the cooking?

[YT][/YT]

Isn't that the traditional British Breakfast?

For the typical British uni student it's breakfast, lunch and dinner... Trust me! :p

order the food and pretend he made it?

Right, now for a serious answer :p

Personally, I'd not go for something you have to 'make', but something you cook and serve like a fancy restaurant.

Like Chicken and Oregano, chicken in white wine sauce, chicken and cranberries, Rump steak with peppercorn sauce, Pork with mash and caramelised onion gravy etc etc.

And then all you have to do is pick out a couple of nice bits of veg, boil some potatoes/oven some chips and your there!

Of course something like that depends on how much money you want to spend.

Oh and if you think there is any chance of you screwing it up, just make sure you get an absolutely orgasmic pudding to follow... The main is soon forgotten :p

This was going to be my response as well. Grilling steaks are pretty easy and most people appreciate them.

I just put a little seasoning salt and garlic salt on them and toss 'em on the grill.

Some people here think you can "WoW" a woman with a grilled steak ? Really ?

Sorry, I don't cook complexe dishes, can't help you.

Correction. A delicious grilled steak.

Girls like exotic salads. The key is something called "ice shocking"; you don't cook lettuce, cucumbers, grated carrots, etc., but you can't just stick raw broccoli, raw green beans and raw cauliflower on top of a salad.

Step 1: Prepare a bowl of icy water. This needs to be done beforehand; stick some icecubes and cold tap water in the biggest bowl you have.

Step 2: Boil (actually parboil) the chopped non-raw vegetables until they just become tender, but don't let them change colour significantly.

Step 3: Pour the hot water away, and IMMEDIATELY immerse the parboiled vegetables in the ice water. This "freezes" them in their cooked state, but makes them crisp at the same time.

Now, you have a lot of vegetables, along with your traditional lettuce, cucumbers, etc., to make a big salad.

For dressing, I like a sesame vinaigrette. All vinaigrette is basically 3 parts oil, 1 part vinegar. In this case I would use a cup of olive oil, 1/3 cup of white vinegar, and about a tablespoon of sesame oil and some raw sesame seeds. Wisk it together (right in front of your ladies, it impresses them) and boom, you've got an exotic Asian salad.

Top with some grilled chicken or what have you, and you have a complete meal. Even a simple pasta dish can go well with this, but the salad is the star of this meal.

Didn't see you suggest something better than a steak, Chef Boyardee ...

:awesome:

Why not just a chicken caesar salad?

Every time I've been on a date with a girl that's all they order.

Chef Boyardee ! I had to lookup on the web for it. Nice nickname :)

Anyway, I will add my receip ( my brother receip actually ).

Hot oysters, you need :

- oysters
- cheese ( with taste, like a Blue D'Auverge or Roquefort )
- curry
- breadcrumb

Open the oysters ( dish the water and wait for the oyster to recreate it )
Put some cheese on the oyster with or w/o curry
Put the result in your oven and wait for it to cook

PS : oyster are known to be aphrodisiac but I wouldn't count on it.

That sounds like bad breath on a plate.

Not really and you can still use less tasty cheese, the receip is open.
Also, it more an appetizer than a main course. 4/6 oysters by person.

Note : don't put a mountain of cheese on the oysters :)

Get one of those George Foreman grilling machine, then grill some nice marinated steak or chicken, garnish them with mashed potato & gravy (which you can buy), then viola! Easy as pie.

Whatever you're planning, make sure it's not just a main course, make a salad, ceaser is easy, buy some romaine lettuce and a bag with everything else, dressing, croutons, cheese. Make some side veggie(s) also.

The biggest advice though, is if it's a new recipe, go through a test drive the day before, to make sure it turns out okay. You want to make sure you can make it and it tastes good before planning on serving it to guests.

Quick, simple, and delicious.

Boneless skinless chicken breast.

Buttermilk

Italian bread crumbs

Parmesan cheese

Black pepper... that's the ingredients. Soak the chicken in the buttermilk for two hours. Combine bread crumbs, parmesan, black pepper in a bowl. Take chicken dip in breading, place on a baking rack over a cookie sheet. Preheat oven to 425°. Spray chicken with cooking spray then put in oven for 45 minutes. Turn the chicken at 30 minutes in and enjoy.

Mashed potatoes with gravy and some dinner rolls and a simple salad.

And some rufees for the drinks and have an awesome night.
