I'm staying at my friends house atm and we're having a bit of a problem with his PC.
Recently he purchassed a ' Wireless 11g USB adapter ' from LM Technologies. We installed the drive and all that other crap but we still couldnt create a wireless connection for his computer. He has broadband and a modem plugged into his comp but we cannot work out how to get this freaking thing working. Could anyone help us out via tutorials or stuff?
Oh, we managed to create a connection but we weren't able to create the Network Address or I.P so we're kinda stuck.:csad:

HELP PLEASE!

hmm.. you could reset the wireless box by talking the plug out for a minute or if there is a reset button on the back like mine.
If you have windows You can try right clicking on the screen at the bottom (pointed to below)

and clicking repair

thanks dude but unfortunately it doesnt have a reset button on it and the repair function does nothing. I'm seriously confuzzled now

*BUMP* Yeah, can anybody help?
Oh, when we try to establish a connection via the wireless connection wizard it doesn't give the usb port of which the adapter is plugged into as an option, we've tried each port but no luck...help, can anyone tell us how they installed their usb wireless thingies if they use one?

Tanker, can you do this:

go to Start>Run>type "cmd"> on the black screen type "ipconfig"

look for the following info under wireless LAN:
IP Address:
Subnet Mask:
Default Gateway:

btw, what wireless client are you using, the one for WinXP or a 3rd party/ Vendor client or some software from LM Technologies?

We're using the LM technologie's software which came with it - ZDWLan Utility

I'll test the CMD thing and get back asap

EDIT: Ok it came up with this:

Tanker, you may want to use the wireless client that came default w/ WinXp, less prob with compatibility.

make sure to disable the ZDWLan Utility before using the one w/ WinXP.

hmm, looks like a driver problem.

can you go to Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware Tab> Device Manager button. check under Network Adapters, see if your Wireless USB Adapter's drivers are installed properly (it should if it shows with a plain green icon). if instead you're seeing it with a yellow exclamation point or a red X or if its under "Other Devices"instead then it means that the driver may not be installed properly and that you may need to uninstall/reinstall it again.

if you're still having some trouble getting it to work after that, i would suggest that you call LM Technologies, your equipment is new therefore within warranty, so they should be able to help you.

It works, but only on the computer with the dongle attached.
My laptop and his psp cannot connect to it. How can we allow connections from different computers etc?

You will probably need to get an individual dongle adapter for each electronic product that you plan to use a wireless connection with. The dongle only receives the wireless signal it doesn't transmit the wireless signal to everything by itself so trying to use one dongle to hook up everything would have never worked to begin with. You could always download the dongle software on your laptop computer or psp & switch it out when you did need the wireless connection though on a certain device.
