Ok here is my issue and i hope someone could help me out at all because i havent had much help from official technical support people i talked to. A few weeks ago my parents bought me a new internet modem/aircard for my laptop. My laptop is a dell inspiron E1505 running on windows vista home premium and is the 32-bit system version. So my problem is after i install the sprint/franklin wireless U680 usb modem/internet is this. It install properly and had no issues there.
So the thing is i bring up the connection manager window after i place the usb device in the usb slot. I then click on the connect to/go button and it says itinalizing for like 2 seconds but then says disconnect and i never connect to the sprint service at all. I have enough bars for a connection and in a good service coverage spot. I also have windows firewall and my virus firewall settings set to allow the sprint program through. So my problem is as i said i just can not get connected on my laptop.
So originally the next day after i installed it and could not get it working i went to the store parents got the device at and sent over an hr there with little luck. All i found out is the device itself is working properly and they rebooted/and reactivated a few times and still nothing on my laptop. They did get it working on a laptop at the store running on windows xp system. So after that between then and the next two weeks i talked to dell tech support and they gave me no help at all and just gave me the run around a few times i called them. I talked to microsoft and they to gave me the run around too and said since my laptop was an oem model i had to just talk to dell for tech problems.
So then i called the franklin wireless people who are the device maker. Their tech person was a bit more helpful but still we could not find out what is the issue with it not working on my vista 32 bit system when it should be. The other day i tried it on home pc running on windows xp system and it works fine there but still not on my laptop. So now this weekend i am home from school and go back monday night. So monday my parents want to take it back to the store and replace it/return it for the money.
So i was just hoping maybe someone here can help me out with my problem. If so that would be great. Also on another note after trying to locate a tech forum to help me out i through google found this official microsoft dl link for something about usb modem/internet cards getting throughput to work on vista systems. So does any one know what throughput means and would that possibly be something that could help me getting it to work on my laptop.
