I need help with my wireless connection

Hey fellas I wonder if you can help me, Im having problems connecting to the internet via my laptop ( wireless), all the other computers in the house connect to the internet just fine.However the odd thing is that the only thing that seems to connect on my laptop is my xfire messenger other than that my web browsers and msn messengers cant connect. . I assume this is a recent problem. Have you installed any new software or made any system changes recently (when you still could connect)? Using System Restore to the last date you remember everything working OK might help. Other than that, I'd check the basic stuff; firewalls, correct passcodes, drivers, etc. Maybe even some basic troubleshooting on your system.

That's really general stuff, but I hope its of some use.

I tried system restore and it wouldnt let me restore drivers are all up to date ( if they were not I dont think I would be able to have run xfire chat) I did a ping check in cmd and it said that my media was disconnected ?. thanks for your help

Is it just me or did you type that out 3 times in the same box???

Sometime if mine does that i leave it turned off for 24 hours and when it comes back on it kicks in again, if that fails fireware update

I have a question also and figured I would start a new thread.

I have problems the last few weeks with my connection going out. It usually seems to happen if my computer is idle. I'll come back and my connection will say it's "good" or "very good" yet I can't get online or anything. So I go down stairs, unplug the router, plug it back in, and it works. It's just a pain and I don't understand what is going on.
