That is a great issue. I only got it a three or four years ago and read it along with the Gang War saga that led up to it and I realized two things: 1) the '90s TAS tried very hard to be like those '80s DeFalco stories with Kingpin (though it did not succeed :hehe: ) and 2) That was much better than Hobgoblin Lives. I understand that Stern never wanted it to be Leeds and got to bring the character back his way (which led to some good stories in Amazing Spider-Girl), but that is still a much better story that brought a satisfying end to the Hobgoblin saga. It felt like for 30+ issues it was building to that point. The decade-later retcon did not match it, in my opinion.

I loved both the above story and Hobgoblin Lives. But I'm clearly a Goblin fanatic, so...

And since i own these three:

Now I really will stop, having officially overdone it.

PP:SM #75 (sorry can't post images on this computer)

I too love PP75. The back cover makes it even more awesome.

While a cheap plot device used for a terrible gimmick, it did a really nice job of bringing Norman back and escalating their rivalry 20 fold (especially with what he did to MJ and baby May). I't also helps JRjr is one of my favorite Spidey artists. Too bad Mackie let the books sink into mediocrity a few years later when he ran out of ideas again.

^^ Agreed! It really was an awesome issue overall and it cemented my love for JRJR's art even though I was a huge fan before I read it.

I'd say Web of Spider-Man #32 and Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man #101 are my favorites. Spider-Man probably has the best history of covers.

Why did Marvel specify that Spidey was not a mutant?
