If you could have creative control over any franchise, what would you do to improve it?

I think Elm St has a lot of potential in the concept of Dream Warriors and the lore could be expanded by introducing new entities that exist in the Dream world.

Yeah, that's actually pretty decent an idea...

Imagine Nancy today, going online and seeing others who have had similar incidents - the trauma is the same, she connects and learns more - the ptsd she gets just by hearing their details and seeing the look int heir eye that only she recognizes and also believes. One victim live streams themselves sleeping, to prove it's real, we see a gory death that goes viral - sparking more to speak out, even some trying to entice Freddy to their dreams. It's like an urban legend and kids start calling for Freddy and he's the boogie man.

More deaths occur and it's not just Freddy doing it, new monsters are introduced where this dream world is the perfect nightmare.

Calling his name, talking about them, gives them power...

The solution, to control, then trap the entities via meditation - drawing them into the real world, where they get lost in the shadows, unable to handle this realm and frequency - lost in a superficial world that doesn't actually believe in the boogieman; or do they.

Predator

Well the upcoming new movie is kinda doing what I would do, which is setting it in a different time.

I would've done the future though, even though lots of ideas from fans have been various points in the past. Somewhere in the Alien movie future, for Space Marines, space stations, and other alien planets, to capture the look and feel of games like Alien Isolation, except with Predators in the mix.

DC films.

New Gods. James Gunn.

Brad Bird would be hired for Superman.

Ron Howard for GL

Alfonso Cuaron for MM.

Jon Favreau for flash.

Stephen Spielberg for WW.

I'd Keep Matt Reeves for Batman

JJ Abrams for Dr Fate.

The first film would be New Gods. It would center around the new gods and their war with apokolips, and how that war triggered the destruction of Krypton.
It would end with Darkseid destroying Krypton because of krypton's aiding of the new Gods in their war.
We see a lone ship escape into hyperspace as the planet explodes. Darkseid is furious. Not one kryptonian can survive. He spends the next several years tracking where the ship went.

2nd film would be Superman.
Brainiac is the main villain ( finally)
Hugo weaving would play him.
Brainiac has ties to Darkseid. Thats how he discovers where Kal is.
Bryan Cranston as Lex.

Each DC film would have an underlying story about that war while dealing with their individual story and villain(s).
It would culminate with a team up film(s), the JL and new Gods vs Apokolips and Darkseid.

Peter Jackson would do part one.
It would be mostly Earth based.
A Huge epic war involving all nations, heroes, and new Gods defending the earth.
There would Lots of cameos by other lesser heroes we haven't seen yet also.
In the end The forces of apokolips are driven away.
The heroes then decide to take the fight to apokolips.

Ridley Scott for part two. It would be mostly based on apokolips.
The heroes and new Gods arrive on apokolips.

Hmm.. oddly the first thing that comes to my mind is Terminator, which has admittedly been run into the ground at this point. I would hack the budget right down, make a bleak, grimy survival story set in the ruins of humanity. Cast a young Kyle Reese as the lead, have him try and ultimately fail to protect someone close to him. He ends up captured by Skynet, working in a nightmarish camp. Right when he feels all hope is lost, John Connor arrives to free the prisoners.

Fast and the furious and I would make them all use public transport because it’s better

ha. How about a film where they only use bicycles? Diesel can have a penny farthing so he can remain above everyone else.

I think they need to try a different approach to the Predator franchise although the next movie does sound good I’d like to see a Predator movie set on an alien planet with no humans and have the movie dialogue free. For The Terminator franchise I’d like to see a hard r gritty future war movie, but if time travel is to be used I’d have the machines send back an army of Terminators in their attempt to speed up judgment day, so it’d end up being Sarah and Arnold trying to round up the people being targeted before they’re killed leading up to a modern day war with the military and Sarah and co. against an army of assorted Terminators.

For the Fast and Furious franchise I’d erase the last couple movies and not make anymore.

Hell, Shang-Chi had a fight on a bus and that was the best action sequence in that movie. It can be done!

I mean, I'd still probably do the same story even without Cavil, its more about how to shift the direction of the Superman franchise than how to revive the role of one particular actor.

Scooby-Doo.

I'd keep the current regular voice cast (Welker, DeLisle, Lillard, Micucci). Aim for more continuity, but not so tight as to be restrictive. There'd be occasional crossovers with previous Scooby continuities. Tone-wise I'd go for between Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! and Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated. There'd be plenty of 'goofy', but also genuine scares. Some solutions would involve the genuine supernatural, but the majority would be 'guy in a mask' (maybe a 90%/10% split). And I'd have the gang back in their original outfits.

I'd have the Hex Girls guest-star every now and then, and I'd sort out the rights so that Josie and the Pussycats could cross-over. And I'd definitely feature at least one epic rockout song with the Hex Girls and the Pussycats performing together!

Middle-earth.

I beg the Tolkien Estate for the Silmarillion rights.

Technically this one is because they made a video game out of it...

  1. Fund a sequel to The Warriors
  2. Hire George Miller to direct and Walter Hill to write
  3. The sequel is set 50 years later
  4. Mostly all new gangs and callbacks to the gangs from the first film
  5. Still set it in New York (but shoot it in Jersey City)
  6. The plot is similar to the original only it evolves the world (just like the first Mad Max to Fury Road)

Creative control over any franchise

I would have creative control of the Die Hard franchise

Completely remake the franchise with John Cena as the new John McClane

I would let John Hyams do whatever the hell wants with The Terminator.
