Theres a funny thing about the swine flu, and bird flu. You know that "normal" flu that humans get? Yeah, it comes from a strain that originally affected swine and birds, but that doesn't scare the living crap out of people, so they don't mention it on the news.

I thought that the issue was the availability of a vaccine, not the source/origin. There's no reason that should scare the living crap out of people.

The vaccine we have rarely ever is effective. Each new flu strain seems to start in Asia and the American drug companies make educated guesses on how the strain will develop by the time it gets over here, and many times they're wrong. Flu shots are essentially pointless due to that.
