Hopefully I'll be buying a new laptop in the next year.
Basically Im looking for these things
-NOT A MAC or a DELL (I hate Dells)
-Has a Blu Ray drive (although Im noticing that some laptops dont even have CD drives anymore)
-Comes in black
-Very portable, 14"-15" screen
-Reliable,Durable, good battery life, etc.

Does anyone have any models or brands that they would like to recommend?

What's your budget? Will you be doing a lot of gaming?

No gaming. Don't have a particular budget. I mean nothing over $2000, but otherwise IIm pretty flexible on price

What JustHuman said.

Also, Lenovo has been very good to me in the past and the Y510p is right up your alley. If you want to go a little crazier, you could get a MSI laptop. Very reliable and you can find a whole bunch of models from newegg and other sites. You can also customize it how you like from a place like xoticpc, although doing that will take about two weeks to ship, but the price point is very good and you get exactly what you want without compromises.

Bought a Gateway that lasted for 3 years. Never had any issues with it until I dropped it on the ground.

If budget is no issue (or at least, not a huge issue), and you don't care about gaming, I would consider an Ultrabook.

I can recommend some good deal sites.

Blu-ray player is kind of a tall order though. Disc drives are a thing of the past, and blu-ray drives were never common. I have only ever seen one laptop with a blu-ray player.

But you can buy an external one for... maybe 30-40 bucks?

ASUS, baby. Bought one for under $600 in summer 2011. No gaming but I do everything else. It still runs like an absolute champion. The only honest flaw of ASUS is that the sound sucks. But I plug mine to my Sony speakers. Done son.
