I ran across a post on the Yahoo - IMAX stock message board...

New DMR Confirmed

"Watchmen" from WB, directed by Zack Snyder ("300") on March 6, 2009.

Has anyone else heard about this? Is it really confirmed?

This would also mean that WM will have a running time of 158 min or less. The limit of the largest IMAX film platters.

I know that Snyder has been fighting WB for a 3 hour running time, so there's a possibility that this is true.

IMAX and WB seem to have a good relationship. Thought the R rating might not get it on IMAX, as they would want something with a wider audience and no scenes were shot with an IMAX camera. But it would be great if it did.

They have done R rated films a few times. 300 and the two Matrix sequels. It would be great if more films were shot with IMAX cameras, so far there has only been one. I hope the Dark Knight in IMAX does so well at the box office that studios will want to make more films in IMAX. WB and IMAX have had a great relationship. WB jumped on board with IMAX DMR releases long before it made sense for them financially.

A lot of movies are now going in IMAX which i think it is cool. I would rather go to a imax theater then a normal one
