Is Batman Insane?

it's still a lighter batman he becomes which one can say leads to his light hearted behaviour in the last installment

Batman: (The Joker is) psychotic.
Vicki: Some people say the same about you.
Batman: What people?
Vicki: Well, let's face it - you're not exactly normal....are you?
Batman: It's not exactly a normal world, is it?

The very dialogue exchange that prompted me to ask this question.

Interesting question. I'll write out a semi-coherent response later when I'm not distracted by You-Tube. :cwink:

Shouldn't you be dead? 'Cos nearly a week watching videos should be fatal. ;)

this is an insane response.

first he's unaware of people's reactions to his costumed drammatics while also having a skewered perception of reality, maybe just as skewered as some of the people he's facing off against.

they just happen to be opposite sides of the same spectrum.

he's not balanced and this normally comes out when bruce is on his own.

If you think saying this world is not exactly normal is a "skewed perception of reality", you haven´t followed the news much.

there is nothing else to compare this world to so therefore due to process of elimination it is normal.

So people dropped in chemicals makes ones skin white and lips red?

Not quite sure where you're going with that, Angeloz.

In BB he clearly knows that his batman persona is just an act he plays.

Yes you could say it was a serious version of the sixties batman while in B89/BR and the batman seems more of a dark psychological ofshoot of his personality expresing all his anger and obsession of his parents murder they are different takes on the character its really up to which one you like most you all know how i feel.:oldrazz:

I always thought of him as totured soul rather then insane. However, I remember reading a Batman comic a while ago In it, the Joker something like "you are no different then us" or "you're just as insane as us". I also kinda think Batman is sort of sick especially Frank Miller's Batman and maybe even the Batman in Batman: TAS due to the fact he had possible sexual relationship with a young girl, Barbera Gordon or Batgirl.

I think he's borderline, and if he gets pushed just enough, he'll go over the edge completely. It's shocking it hasn't happened already, but I think he's constantly on the verge of snapping.

is batman insane?

What if I told you insane was working fifty hours a week in some office for fifty years at the end of which they tell you to piss off; ending up in some retirement village hoping to die before suffering the indignity of trying to make it to the toilet on time? Wouldn't you consider that to be insane?
