Is Democracy failing us

Small governments tend to be weak due to giving too much power to their divisions and horrible mismanagement.

I'm not advocating the existence of no government. I just don't think that the government has the right to put it's nose in the personal and economic affairs of the individual.

This is all a matter of opinion and beleifs and it's kind of hard to change that upon people. I'm most likely not going to get you to change your mind on having a huge government that provides the people with every possible serivce they need and you're most likely not going to change my mind that I beleive that the government should only really do what is necessary and strictly adhere to the Constitution.

Socialist democracys don't meddle in the affairs of individuals. Do you really think Sweden and the Netherlands is like communism?

Not at all, by meddling in the affairs of individuals, I mean taking part in social and economic programs such as universal health care, welfare, etc. That is meddling in the economic affairs of the individual. I do not beleive that the government has that right.

So the government doesn't have the right to give medical aide to its citizens?

Big government, hindering the advancement of medicine, and interfereing with individual affairs.

As I said, it all lies down on individual opinion. You support bigger government that should come down and rescue the downtrodden, I support smaller government that should just keep to basic responsiblities such as keeping order, passing necessary legislation, providing defense, and making sure things don't get ****ed up.

More like we're failing democracy. :down

Sweden has a big government and they have a better health care system.
Their doctors all get payed the same rate, thus greed doesn't get in the way.

Sweden has a big government and they have a better health care system.
And what makes it a better health care system? The fact that everyone gets it for free?

It isn't the most advanced health care system though. That belongs to the United States and most advancements in health care comes from the United States.

Just because it's free and very efficient, doesn't mean that it's better.

Their doctors all get payed the same rate, thus greed doesn't get in the way.
Same with Canada, but all their doctors moved to the United States :o

I won't say anything because Kritish has said it all. Totally agree with you, man.

So a good doctor gets paid as much as a bad one? Or an unexperienced one?

Great idea

So the government should let people die or live below the poverty line?

Not everyone is interested in a rugged individualist style government.

Yes. If people are living below the poverty line, it is their burden to rise above it. It should not be the burden of the tax payers or the government.

As far as letting people die - hospitals can not refuse life or death cases.
