Or rather, 14 snakes and 10 geckos.

18:24 PDT OSLO, (AP) --

A man has been arrested in Norway trying to smuggle two dozen snakes and geckos into the country by hiding them under his clothes. Customs agent Helge Breilid said Monday the 22-year-old Norwegian citizen was apprehended in the southern town of Kristiansand after getting off a ferry from Hirtshals, Denmark. He said the man had 14 royal pythons and 10 albino leopard geckos under his clothes.

Breilid said the non-venomous snakes — the smallest species in the python family — were hidden in stockings duct-taped to the man's abdomen. The geckos were in boxes taped to his thighs.

Customs officials found the reptiles, which are not endangered, Sunday during a search following the discovery of a tarantula in one of the man's bags.

This actually happens quite frequently on trips coming from Australia (particularly the top end - Northern parts of Queensland and Darwin) because we have a great deal of unique endangered species.

And its not just limited to non-venomous snakes either...

People have been known to keep snakes in the freezer to calm them to a state of hibernation and then make a short flight to a country with far less liberal customs laws and then send their cargo to zoos around the world.

Happens quite frequently... I've read a book where the author goes on to explain one such person's wily scheme to make off with 6 taipans (one of the most venomous snakes in the world) with three up each pant-leg only to have accidentally killed them all by having the freezer set too high the previous night.
