Is this the beginning of the end for Netflix?

Netflix will be fine. That said, F*** YOU NETFLIX for canceling Sense8. Maybe you'd have enough for another season of a high quality show like that if you weren't hell-bent on cranking out god-awful Adam Sandler turds every year.

A **** ton of subscribers. They have over 90 million subscribers and they have been gaining tens of millions of subscribers every year. And their revenue in 2016 was over $8 billion.

Netflix is like a giant snowball rolling down a snow hill the size of Everest. It's gonna take a lot to stop its momentum and progress.

And now that Comcast carries Netflix it will get even bigger. I was reluctant to sign up to Netflix because when I watch a show I want to plop down on the couch and watch it on my big flat screen TV, not my laptop or phone.
But now that I can watch Netflix from the comfort of my living room with a bowl of popcorn, I have signed up.

They want to take the risks with their shows and the president of the company has publicly stated that the company has no problems taking risks with them and that inevitably some will get canceled but more will take their place, and with the quality of shows they have I'm excited for their future programming.

*points up* This. If they never ever cancelled a show, it'd be a bad sign. It'd mean they weren't investing aggressively in new content.

Besides, note that unlike a network, "cancellation" just means no additional seasons for a show. The old seasons are still up there, still available, and still contributing to the value proposition of the service.

Are you sure? Sandler comedies are notorious for costing pocket lint, even with them being basically investment scams.

That said, its not really a matter of "running out of money", its a matter of "Are people watching this?" If not enough people actually watch Sense8 or whatever, even if Netflix has plenty of money available? Its better for them to invest it in making a new show.

I didn't even know that. I've been trying to keep up with everything, but I really liked that show. Maybe they'll put it on network TV. :o

I've been watching Hannibal on Amazon lately. How did NBC allow that into their lineup? LOL.

Be mad at people for watching Adam Sandler way more then Sens8.

Might as well ask this thread's main question to any TV channel that cancels a show since costs and viewership don't match up well enough.

this whole thread :lmao:
For real. If Netflix cancelled House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, all the Marvel shows and Stranger Things, then we worry.

It would have been nice if they'd tried to promote sense8, There were no talk show appearances for any of the actors, I've combed the interwebs, nothing except one or two netflix junkets. Saw little to no advertisement on Social Media. The only reason I heard about it is my dad harped on me to watch it.
