So whos going to make a Demons thread then?

Me That's who!

Luke Rutherford is your average teenager – until his dead father's best friend, Rupert Galvin, turns up. Galvin has come to tell Luke his secret destiny: he's the real-life great-grandson of Abraham Van Helsing, the vampire hunter in Bram Stoker's Dracula. Luke is set to inherit the family mantle as a warrior against the supernatural entities swarming the earth.
But Luke isn't the only one to have recently discovered his true identity. The powerful half-life, Gladiolus Thrip (Mackenzie Crook) has too.

I'm gonna give it a chance, if you're in the UK you can watch the trailer for the first episode here.

Yes im going to give this a shot, looks quite good. I like the woman playing Mina Harker i think shes good in Survivors. Im not too sure about Gene Hunts American accent though...

I'm intrested, this has some Dr Who fans talking and they can be picky.

1. damn you bluetac:cmad:

2. it looks good, has atleast 2 people who can act(one less than primeval for those who can count) and one of them is "him who is gene hunt" so it can't be that bad...

Count me in. Love these type of shows.

Thats true, still im not sure about his American accent though??..:oldrazz:

Are there really any Americans called Rupert?

I don't imagine its a popular name stateside.

I've never met a British Rupert, it's an old name.

It was quite weak. The guy from Life on Mars was trying way to hard to play some sort of cool American guy.

The rest of the cast are devoid of charisma. It lacks the fast pace of shows like Doctor Who, the witty script of shows like Buffy and the fun of shows like Primeval.

him who is gene hunt was the best thing about it i thought. the others were very flat and "this will get me money...oh...er...lines...must act..."

I agree, this was complete crap, but at least the cast was shmexy.

aw crap. I've been in London the past week, and been seeing the ads for it, and thinking it might be really cool. Oh well.

Rupert Galvin...Rupert Giles. Both mentors to the 'only one who can save us from the monsters by birthright'. The guy even has scoobies.
And Gene's accent was awful.

upside: christian coulson's full opening scene of being topless
downside: I forsee the finale's bad guy saying the famous words 'Luke, I am your father'

Maybe it'll get better? Having just witnessed the glory of "him who is Gene Hunt" in Life on Mars (I'm halfway through series 1 now), I'm interested in seeing more of him. Sad that this is off to a crappy start, but there's always the off chance that it'll get better. Some good shows have had weak starts.

I'll watch one or two more episodes but I wasn't all that impressed.

I just saw a preview on YouTube and wow, the Guv's American accent really is terrible. Why couldn't they have just left him British or hired an American actor? At least Buffy had the brains to hire an English actor for their one major Englishman role.

I think they watched Marry Poppins and were pissed off and thought, "This'll show them!"

I wanna see the American version just because Harvey Kietel is in the Gene Hunt role.

Giles at the begining of Buffy was a very sterotypical Englishmen and Galvin was a very sterotypical American. It sounded like someone who thinks every American talks like they are from a Micheal Bay movie.

Of all the British actors that can do an American actor they find one that can't. They could of even used a Canadian actor or they couldn't find an american one :o

I think the point is he's brittish but he's lived in the US a while and now has a weird accent.
