Jeff Nichols(Take Shelter) "Mud"
MUD is a coming-of-age drama centered around two fourteen-year-old boys who encounter a mysterious fugitive hiding out on an island in the Mississippi. Intrigued by this man, they enter into a pact to help him evade capture and reconnect with the love of his life. Though it is hard for the boys to discern truth from fiction when it comes to Mud, it isn’t long until their small Arkansas town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of hunters in tow.

this movie sounds like it belongs in the nineties for some reason.

It kind of sounds like an American 'Great Expectations'

Official Trailer

looks great McConaughey has been killing it lately

Looks great.

Nichols is one of my favorite new directors, and in the last year McConaughey has been choosing some awesome projects, so yea count me in for this.

Yeah, Matt's on a role lately with picking amazing, diverse roles (and actually doing great in them).

Just saw the trailer, this looks great.

I enjoyed 'The Lincoln Lawyer' and 'Killer Joe'.

This looks like another solid performance from him.

Anyone else seen this? Just finished it. Highly recommended. I wasn't the biggest fan of Take Shelter (although I did like it, just felt it was a little over-rated) but this was excellent.

Yeah this is easily the best film of 2013 so far for me.

Best film of 2013? No, but I did see this a few nights ago, and thought it was a very well made film, with some great performances. This one snuck under the radar a bit.

finally caught this it was a very good movie great performances by matt and tye

but what i find hilarious is it seems the moral story of this film is women are evil and men get crapped on lol

Well that is how it is in real life

I enjoyed this a lot, great Stand By Meish movie. Phenomenal performances, McConahey I mean what the hell happened to this guy. One year he is releasing romantic comedy after romantic comedy and now he's releasing phenomenal movie after phenomenal movie. He's jumped up to one of my favorite actors. I didn't think this was even close to a best movie of the year like I had being hearing a lot of people say about it but I did think it was great and I recommend it to anyone.

shame how this isnt getting more recognition for the cast and crew.

But i guess making a reallly good movie is their reward or whatever.

Still havent seen a film this year that I liked more than this
