We are done with the first week of photography. I am happy to report that the ten months of preparation allowed the extremely challenging first week of photography to come off without a hitch. The look is fantastic and the performances are great as well. Downey was definitely the right choice.

I'm looking forward to getting out of the "cave." The first few weeks of shooting are spent, somewhat in sequence, establishing Stark's captivity. It sets the table tonally for the rest of the film. The close quarters and tight schedule make it the toughest part of the shoot on the cast and crew.

So next up would be to do some filming in the desert, see Tony get bloweded up and captured; and then the scenes where the grey behemoth gets a little retribution.

My money's on getting some origin love at Comic-Con this year...

It's all coming together! And it is sounding great so far.

It's nice to see Jon is still giving updates, I know some were concerned that he may be too busy to update everyone.
I'm also thrilled to hear everything is going great in the first week.

This is going to be one cool ass movie!!!

Very nice update, I'm glad Jon will continue to update us. I'm looking forward to set pics.

It's great to see he continues to update us. Really, the MySpace group became extraneous when cameras started rolling, he doesn't need fan opinions anymore, doesn't really need to set any records straight anymore, so this is pure icing on the cake.

Better believe we'll be getting some set pics soon. They'll be doing alot of location shooting for the flick, and filming is occurring in/near one of the media capitals of the world. Maybe no cave pics, but I'll take the grey behemoth torching the flaming crap out of insurgents out in the desert east of LA/west of Vegas, baby...

I love that he shares his thoughts about the whole production process with us

This movie could potentially be the best comic book movie ever! Great cast and Fav seems to know what he's doing.
