Drama Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme (Timothée Chalamet) | A24

I'm starting to think these Safdie bros are some ****ty people with even ****tier friends.

Saved me a trip to the theater then Christmas.

Safdies love workinng with non-actors since the beginning of their career. O'Leary seems to be playing a character who is very similar to his own personality -- so I think it's a great fit.

None of this explains why they couldn't find an actual actor who isn't a real world evil person.

Ohh this looks gooood. Avatar is my Christmas movie, but I'll check this out the weekend after.

This looks excellent. It's clear that the high-octane, fast-paced rhythm from Good Time and Uncut Gems came from Josh Safdie moreso than Benny. Benny's works like The Curse and The Smashing Machine (both which I love) have more of a 'slice of life' tone to them.

I liked him better before he started dating a Kardashian.

I think he has turned in some great performances but don't go around saying that. Show some modesty.

Yeah, he forgot to take the Leo playbook on being humble. But obviously, you wouldn’t spout that if you weren’t insecure about it.

And that can cost him his Oscar for a couple more decades lol

Timmy is great, but he hasn't done anything quite as transformative (outside of playing Bob Dylan) as a young Leo.

And I agree, Timmy should stay humble and out of the limelight so much. It will allow people to invest more in his characters -- instead of just seeing a celebrity.

And yeah, dude played Wonka (and not as good as Gene Wilder either).

But at least much better than Depp. Credit has to be given where it's due. :o

To be honest, I’ll take Depp’s over Chalamet. At least it was something different and within the character.

Chalamet went completely bland for something that is the complete opposite. I didn’t buy him for one second in the role. Depp I can buy as a complete wacko lol.

To each their own. I wasn't much a fan of Depp's Wonka even when it first came out 20 years ago.
