^^ I generally disagree with the second poster above...

It worked for me cause I felt something that connected a speck of my life intertwined with Juno's and Vanessa's lives.

I know my real mother wanted to keep me so bad cause she was too young and she was in school that she prayed to have a second child one day later in her life and it happened. I imagine the look on her face after I was born and when I saw Vanessa's face as she held her son to be... it just made me feel something so deep inside. Jen was a great mommy...and my ear hurts :(

this movie was better than garden state.

both are below average, though.

Just got back from this, absolutely loved it, of the Oscar nominated movies Ive seen so far this is my favourite.

Ellen Page gives an outstanding turn as Juno, revealing her bit by bit, peeling away the armour of acidic wit as the film goes along, but the film is more than that, all the support characters have something that makes them interesting, that makes you want to spend time with them. I'd be hard pressed to single out one, perhaps Jason Bateman's unfulfilled husband Mark, his dreams fading under the white picket fence ideals of wife Vanessa, yet is that the case ? he is as much to blame, an immature guy with his head stuck in the stars, making commitments he can't/wont keep.

Juno's parents are both insightful and sharp witted, each scene they are in is a joy and Allison Janey in particular creates a fantastically unconventional character in Juno's step mom Bren. Michael Cera really doesn't get that much time but every scene he has with Page is pure gold, making Paulie both bewildered and kind, even Juno's best friend Leah (who starts off kinda annoying) grows into a likable character as the to the end friend,

The script is sharp, funny and observant, brought to life by this cast better than i am sure Diablo Cody ever imagined, Juno is a heartwarming but never schmaltzy film that really makes you feel good and yet doesn't treat you dumb, i even liked the soundtrack. :woot:

9/10

i just watched hard candy the other day. puts ellen page in a whole new light, ha, very talented girl in just about any role it seems.

I liked the soundtrack too

Cool Hunter. Im glad you liked it. I agree with you on Bateman's character Mark. Maybe he shouldn't have married Vanessa in the first place if he felt he wasn't ready. Talk about bad timing on his part. I felt bad for Vanessa. :( but one thing I learned is that you don't have to be a perfect couple to raise a baby. Either way, Vanessa would have been capable of raising her son on her own - whatever it takes, I guess.

I can relate. I never met my real father but I was open for an adoption within my real mother's sisters family.

I'm torn between watching this or jumper on valentines day, scew it, I'll watch both. I'm impressed by the reviews this film is getting. Ellen Page impressed me in hard candy and I didn't even know she played SC in X3.

i saw that in theaters a couple years back when it 1st came out... it freaked me out despite how fantastic it was...

The soundtrack is awesome.

The soundtrack is awesome.

Ive been playing "All i want is you" all day since i got back and i have "anyone else but you playing in my head as i type" :woot:

I loved the opening credit sequence with the rotoscoped Juno.

Both my favorite songs. Along with Vampire. :D

Vampire and Tree Hugger are always on repeat for me. Love those.

Great movie. Until Jason Bateman turned out to be a *****ebag. How dare they?

I feel like I'm the only person in the world who didn't care much for the soundtrack. Though I did sort of like the song that Juno and Bleeker played at the end.

I finally saw it. It was okay. I don't get why it was so popular though.

Any chance you can make me an avvy from that?

The more you let this movie sit with you, the more you just come to like it and accept what a good piece of filmmaking it was and how all the characters were worth spending more time than a movie could allow with.

You're not the only one. I can't stand Kimya Dawson or any of that indie music. Just not my thing. But I thought the movie was good regardless of its music.

Does anyone know when Juno is coming out on DVD? I can't wait to make avvies of Jen with baby... aw... cutesy :)
