Jurassic World - Part 4

I completely get where you are coming from Sundance. I am not too surprised about that, but what worries me is that Pratt doesn't seem to even being his charismatic self. It almost feels like he is doing his impression of the trainer from the first film.

But if you are looking for a good trailer today SPIDEY, I'd check out the Pan trailer. :)
Unfortunately I wasn't a fan of the Pan trailer, it was kinda disappointing to me.

Do you think that Pratt is trying too hard to prove that he isn't only the funny dude?

Anyways... I don't know with Pratt. Everything else I have seen him in, he has brought his warmth, his goofy lovableness. My money would be on direction more then anything else. Perhaps the director was not aware of Pratt's normal charisma, or maybe that just isn't what he wanted. All I know right now is that the Star-Lord in JP jokes are far more fun then what I saw in the trailer.

Not much hope for the new JP movies then, considering those two sequels?

The JP sequels weren't the greatest but I personally still like The Lost World even though the characters are DUMB. The Star War's prequel movies nearly destroyed I liked the original trilogy in the first place. None of the JP sequels had anything as bad as Haden Christian' acting and portrayal of Anakin Skywalker/ Darth Vader. One of the greatest villian's in cinematic history is botched by those movies in my book. I am a fan of Star Wars but like I said, I have more hope in Jurassic World at this point. But this isn't a star wars topic so let's all agree to disagree for the time being.

I can just imagine Ian Malcolm's reaction, wherever he is:

"So uh, you're uh making uh hybrid Dinosaurs now huh? Wow uh, you uh idiots never learn your uh, lesson do you? I cannot uh wait and uh see just how uh badly this uh comes back to literally uh bite you in your uh asses."

That line would be AWESOME for Ian in this movie. I hope this movie doesn't give us a throw away line saying that all the original cast like Ian, Grant, Saddler, Tim and Lex are either dead or to old to care about JW. It would make the most sense to at least have Tim and Lex involved with the park considering it was their grandfather's dream.

The same could be said about the new Star Wars movies. Besides, I wouldn't get my hopes up about them considering how the prequel movies turned out. Even with JJ at the helm, I feel like they will be average at best and Phantom Menace bad at worse. BTW I am a fan of Star Wars so I am not just knocking it for no reason.

Lets see here:

-Completely different company running things.
-Completely different director.
-George Lucas having minimal involvement at best.
-A clear effort to learn more towards the OT.

Yeah, the PT has pretty much ZERO relevance at this point. So it sounds more like just knee-jerk pessimism on you part with nothing to back it up.

honestly... star wars is better without lucas...

he had alot of help with the original trilogy... and that turned out great, he did a lot on his own in the prequel trilogy.. and it's incomparable in quality... Lucas should never be given free range to do as he pleases on anything. So im quite excited to see a star wars without him

As I said it's MY opinion on those movies at the moment, though my feelings could change. Also, this is a Jurassic world topic not Star Wars. So let's just agree to disagree here and get back on topic.

Yeah, the CG does need some work. But they have some more time to work on that.

Actually the worst CGI shot to me was that tracking shot of the monorail and the lake.

Yeah, I am just messing. If anything, I would expect the dinos to get a massive upgrade. But I am definitely with you, I am more worried about the other CGI, like the monorail shot and the water.

Come on are people really nitpicking CGI on a movie SEVEN MONTHS away from hitting theaters? Clearly, the movie is still in post production and the CGI will definitely be better, but I thought what was shown in the teaser trailer was fine.

When are people gonna realize this is said all the time, and rarely is the CGI upgraded to a degree that it suddenly becomes spectacular?

If there is fantastic CGI in the trailer, it will be in the film. If it isn't, there is no guarantee it will be.

We're not nitpicking... we explicitly said that the CGI will get better...

the purpose of the trailer is to show off the film... thus we can critique what they show us in the trailer...

If you don't have anything positive to say, don't say anything at all. :o

People said that about Green Lantern tho...:o

But seriously yeah I didnt think the CG was that bad, but I'd be surprised if it doesnt improve

the CGI looked average modern film quality to me... not bad, not spectacular. Nothing worth griping about though

I am sure the CGI will get a bit of an upgrade by the time the movie hit. But even if it doesn't the CGI wasn't horrible like people here trying to say it is. I seen some crappy CGI in my life, but what was shown in the JW trailer wasn't one of those times.

Green Lantern just had some bad CG, nothing in the JW teaser comes close to being that bad. The CG was so obvious that it took you out of the movie, such as the Green Lantern suit and the fact that they had a CG MASK. What the heck?

When the CG looks worse than it did in the original movie, it is one of those times.

I got so many chills watching the trailer, I'm excited. Nostalgia is in full effect and I don't care.

though I thought the shot of the brontosaur looked great

This is the worst CGI Ive seen in a wide release film

Obviously the movie doesnt strive to be great, but Im very surprised someone had the guts to release that scene

By 2014 standards, it is noticeable and rough. It is bad when you considering I watched Planet of the Apes, Edge of Tomorrow, and Godzilla in theaters just this summer.
