They even changed the ripples of the water (and the color too.)
Not unusual. Water is always being messed with. So hard to pull off. They even changed the ripples of the water (and the color too.)
Wasn't finished? It's completely different.
Agree. The CGI looked top notch here, which I didn't feel with the first trailer.I'm a stickler for bad CGI, but here the CG was fine. Most the shots we've seen before have been improved. The dinosaurs are blending in better with the surroundings.

A lot of stand-in material to get the shot out for the trailer.Yeah unfinished. If you actually look at the shot you can see that the tv spot shot is far more complex and better looking ans isn't using elements to mask where the various background pieces come together. The dinosaur is being masked with crude water and spray. The sky is a uniform cloud cover. The tram rail in the teaser shot is masking where the various background elements come together. And the mountain ridge is two ridges slapped together with a fairly uniform depth of field. Now look at the Super Bowl shot? Very few elements masking or blocking anything. You. An clearly see the base of the ridge. The sky is no longer uniform. The ridge line is broken up and the depth of field is broken up. A valley is in the distant. The dinosaur is not longer surrounded by that spray. The rail line is no longer cluttering up the background. Is it different yes? Why is it different? Because like I said, the trailer shot was a temp version. This isn't uncommon and it's a part of a VFX artists job then they need to seek employment in another field.
Just to be clear tho I'm not saying I support how Jackson treats his VFX artists. What Jackson does is actually very hard on the VFX artists. What's happened with s shot here however is in no way unfair to the VFX artists. It's just a normal part of their work load. The natural development of a shot. Now, if we find out that designs and finished shots were thrown out a month before this comes out that the I-rex design has been completelyreworked four weeks before release or that a whole new third act chase is being shot in pickups then trust me Ill be *****ing about it right along with all of yall. That kind of stuff is BS no matter how much VFX artists get paid. They don't get paid enough to work 24+hours straight right up to the deadline cause the director has questionably managed elements of the film.
The only thing that looks iffy were the eyes of the animatroinic dino that Bryce Dallas is looking at.
