Jurassic World - Part 5

I didn't find any problem with his serious performance in the trailer. I think people just have his lovable goofball images so ingrained in their mind that it's hard for them to see him in a more mature or serious role.
I definitely hope that is the case, but every line of his dialogue seemed wooden and forced to me. Again, I really hope I'm proven wrong, but that's just what I've gotten from the trailer thus far. Still cautiously excited for the flick.

I just read that a spinosaurus could weigh 3x as much as a T-Rex. I knew it was bigger but that's insane

There's a new viral video up talking about Masrani and Ingen security and we see D'Onofrio's character. The viral marketing for this film is very good. I'm at work can't post a vid right now but check the main SHH page for the video.

I like the tone they're going for - it reminds me of this:

I love it too AnneFan. And speaking of that Muldoon shot. No think people forget sometimes how badass the intro to JP was. That scene was very dark and scary and intense. It immediately pulls you in going ok wtf just happened. What animal did that to this guy, I wanna see it! Haha

I take it as he was the character who got mauled to death in the novel's prologue, which is gory af

Exactly. Like I said recently I gotta re read the novels again before JW comes out. I read the **** out of both novels but it's been a while now.

Here's one for the film fans, who was better? Muldoon or Roland?

Same! I've read JP about 12 times now, and each time I do I love it more. TLW is great too, but not in the same vein.

Damn, that's a tough one. I got nothing right now lol.

Tough question. Both were fantastic actors in their own right. Muldoon has a certain mystique about him, however I think Roland is better.

Roland was a bit more interesting in the movies. I don't recall much of book Muldoon, except that he spent most of his time hunting the T-Rex.

T-Rex could take him down with some prep time.

The dino nerd in me is breaking out...

The Spinosaurus has recently been redesigned by paleontologists. Now they theorize it was a front heavy predator with stout legs that spent most of its time in the water. It wasn't meant to compete with large theropods like Carcharodontosaurus and probably avoided confrontation.

T-rex wouldn't need prep time - the Spino would ***** out and run. :oldrazz:

Not that the JP movies need a reboot, but one day, I really would like to see Netflix or Co. do an adaptation of the books closer to the source material.

Where did you read this? That doesn't sound accurate at all. Spinosaurus weight estimates are between 6-9 tons. This is the same for the T-Rex (who, while somewhat smaller, was built like a brick). If what you're saying is correct, that would mean a 18-27 ton bipedal animal. That isn't right at all, even if it spent most of it's time in the water.

I wouldn't be against that. The first book gets pretty dark and there's a lot of really interesting set pieces and conversations that were cut from the film for the sake of the family action thriller Spielberg was going for.

Read about this recently as well. They think that upon leaving the water, he'd need to crawl on all fours. Pretty interesting.

The worst part about the big fight in JP3 is that the Tyrannosaur (which has one of the strongest, if not THE strongest bite of any animal that has ever existed) chomps down right on the Spinosaur's neck and the Spinosaur just shrugs it off like Hulk Hogan getting up from Macho Man's Flying Elbow. That was just stupid.

Yeah. :)

I love it when he threatens to shock Gennaro with a cattle prod.

When he's riling up the raptors with using Ellie as bait was so awful but hilarious too LOL

Absolutely. It still upsets me we haven't seen the river rex chase, the raptor nests, and the scene with Grant & the raptors in the embryo room. JP1 is a fantastic movie, but not as good as the book. TLW, wow. What a difference. When [BLACKOUT]Dodgson gets eaten[/BLACKOUT], what an awesome moment. Oh, and for anyone who cares, this guy is doing a comic adaptation of JP1's novel.
