Jurassic World - Part 6

The Crichton book The Lost World was an almost completely different story than the movie. It's not all that great, but it's much better than what the film turned out to be. About half the characters in the movie weren't even in the book, and vice versa. All the Godzilla crap with the T-Rex attacking San Diego was made up for the film, as well as all those guys who showed up to hunt the dinosaurs and ended up just being raptor/T-rex fodder, and Vince Vaughn's stupid character.

I think the second book is great, but I enjoy the first more. Agreed the books are better, and both are completely different than the film adaptations, especially TLW.

Lost world was unwatchable and completly forgettable.

Forgettable? Hardly. It's got the most memorable death scenes in the series (so far...Jurassic World may up the ante).

Its like watching people trying to really shine a turd up. Beside the main hunter who wants to hunt the Trex there are no memorable characters or moments here just shots of people lining up to be a buffet. As a sequel to the classic this was a disgrace that followed up a third one that went on to cock its leg on the grave.

And "heroes" insufferable. Something has gone wrong in the writing process when I want all of the people whom I'm supposed to be rooting for to die horribly and all of the "bad guys" to get away scot-free. Heck the most likeable of the "heroes" was Eddie, and they killed him off halfway through the movie. Everytime I see that scene I always think "damn it's not fair, that should have been Nick."

I saw TLW 7-8 times in the theatre. I was in second grade back then.

Maybe it's childhood nostalgia, but I don't hate Lost World at all.

There are two kinds of people in this world, those that like TLW and those that dig.

Psst. It's not. It actually ain't all that bad. Sure I watched TLW along with JP non stop as a little kid but I can still watch TLW and think it's a pretty good movie and I enjoy it. I won't pretend to overlook its flaws but people act like it's toxic waste.

Because some people flat out don't think that it's good, and have supportable reason for feeling that way. I've already pointed out a major flaw. I saw it as a kid and liked it, but looking at it with a more informed eye now, I just think that it's really underwhelming and poorly-written.
