Jurassic World - Part 6

I slowed down the scene of the I-Rex roaring. It's in the aviary. I can see Dimorphodon's and/or pteranodon's behind it during that quick glimpse. We knew it would be wandering into other paddocks and enclosures so yeah. That is definitely how they get loose and attack the guests flying down at them. I-Rex breaks into the aviary and they fly out.
That will be really cool seeing it together with other random dinosaurs.

Are either of the child characters or the actors who portrayed them in this? Sorry, I haven't been keeping up. I thought that the young girl in JP would have had a career in tv and film by now.

The ones who played Lex and Tim? As far as we have heard and know right now, no they aren't in this.

I remember reading about Ariana Richards (Lex) becoming a successful artist.

Really? I remember thinking she was super cute when I was a teen.
Same here! Sounds strange now but I guess I was about her age at the time. Yeah a couple of years or so ago I read something about her and she had done paintings and won some awards.

What's interesting is now that Henry Wu is making an appearance in Jurassic World, all the characters that survived on the island in the first movie have all made an appearance in the sequels.

I-Rex is looking real good. The dead Brachiosauruses make me feel :csad:

Odd with the dead Apatosaurs or whichever longneck species those are that they would CG them dead on the ground. Seems like it would have been an opportunity to build something more tactile, much as they did with the sick triceratops in the first film.

True, although it depends how fleeting that shot is. Was worth it for the Trike as they spent a bit of time with it up close.

I don't really see why it's odd, especially if they want to show a large field with 3-4 of these large animals dead. Would have to build 3-4 large animatronics for what might be just a quick looking shot.

Either way, the shot looks really good to me at least. Very well done.

When did they change the name from Brontosaurus to Apatosaurus?

Growing up I called them Brontosaurus.

They changed the name back in the 90's so you're two decades behind dude! jk

I guess I am. I knew of the name Apatosaurus but I thought it was some official scientific name while Brontosaurus was the "regular name" (if that makes any sense)

I never knew Brontosaurus was put in the official "Pluto isn't a planet" category.

Should be illegal to rewrite our childhood, at least on crucial things like planets and dinosaurs. :)

Everything I've seen from this movie has a sheen of fakery I don't find appealing.

It has been Apatosaurus since the 1890s, but they also "discovered" another related species at the same time, which was named Brontosaurus. In or around the 1970s, it was confirmed that Brontosaurus never existed and was a result of the skull of a random other dinosaur getting mixed in with an Apatosaurus skeleton. This isn't like Pluto.

True. I want to look forward to this more, but I'm not seeing anything but CG in the trailers so far.
