Jurassic World - Part 6

I'm really glad one film finally decided to show the actual theme park Jurassic Park opening for the masses. Always wanted to know what that would look like.

Likewise. That's why for me this is really the legit direct sequel basically to JP. TLW is a good sequel and yeah it's based off the book, but film wise after JP this film makes the most sense. Where as JP3 was kind of grasping at straws for a reason to get back to one of the islands. That make sense? Or am I talking random **** here haha.

Like say if you really wanted to show someone who is younger these films. You could pretty much show them just JP and JW. Because World just seems like more of a direct sequel then the other films are to JP or one another. I hope I'm making sense hahaha :P.

I think it will work as a direct sequel to the first film. The theme park was obviously intended to be opened at that stage with all the groundwork done with investors/lawyers etc.

Ok good so what I was saying made sense. I just woke up and was literally making that post while still in bed. Making sure I didn't ramble haha

Haha well you rambled a bit but it made sense underneath. ;)

I need my morning shower to fully wake me up, I don't do coffee haha.

Same here lol.

They should make a real life animatronic Jurassic Park. I'd go at least every year.

I'd totally go to that, I think at some point in this thread we also discussed if there were a real life park would we go. One with real Dinos, if I could afford it or Id save up for it I would totally go.

Animatronic ones could probably be done now. Dont know if they'd be all that much more expensive to maintain than the huge roller coasters. But you wouldn't need hundreds, you could pad it with dinosaur statues, real skeletons and educational stuff but just set it in an area like JP. I've never been on the JP rides but something like that across a whole location. I think I'd go and live there.

On the other hand recreating real dinos hasn't quite been invented yet and they might be a bit dangerous. I'm not trusting an electric fence any more! :woot:

Isn't that what the Universal Studios Jurassic Park Island is all about? I'm sure if this turns into a bigger than expected blockbuster, they'll remodel it as Jurassic World.

So is there not a new trailer this week with Furious 7?

Oh it's a whole Island? How big are we talking? I've not been since I was a kid about 20 or more years ago. Sounds amazing. I've only seen the ride on youtube. :csad:

Only 2 days to go!

I can't wait to see a full track listing. Giacchino is completely obnoxious with his puns.

Apparently, Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly are embroiled in a WGA arbitration battle with Amanda Silver & Rick Jaffa over writing credit for Jurassic World.

http://deadline.com/2015/04/jurassic-world-writers-guild-credits-appeal-universal-1201405390/

Last week, the guild ruled to change Trevorrow & Connolly's "written by" credits to "screenplay by" and co-credit Silver & Jaffa. Now with the appeal, the WGA denied their appeal and gave Silver and Jaffa an additional "story by" credit. Trevorrow & Connolly are appealing the decision again, but if it's turned down again, the writing credits will read:

'Screenplay by Colin Trevorrow & Derek Connolly and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver', 'Story by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver'

Ouch!

Is this like Superman: The Movie where Tom Mankiewicz basically re-wrote the entire script, yet only got a 'Creative Consultant' credit because of guild rules?

WGA is pretty insane with their rules and politics.

WGA is pretty insane with their rules and politics.

I remember being puzzled at Chris Nolan getting co-writing credit on Batman Begins for what was a standard polish. And let's not get into Sheldon Turner complaining about getting 'story by' credit for X-Men: First Class even though they didn't use his Magneto script.

So wait, he worked on 'Magneto', then 'First Class' used portions of his script for the Magneto intro, and all of sudden now he got credit for First Class. That's funny.

I'm thinking WGA should revamp their arbitration system or simplify their writing credit system. Lots of writers do rewrites on lots of studio films, but some get less or far more credit than what should go to the proper writers. And some get left out completely.

Am I mistaken, please correct me, but I think Nicole Pearlman got equal billing for the screenplay for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' with James Gunn right?

Her draft was completely rewritten by Gunn. almost nothing she wrote was in the final script; she didn't even Groot.

What makes her role significant though, is that she was in the Marvel Screenplay Program, and was asked to pick a comic to adapt. She picked Guardians of the Galaxy only due to the absurdity of it.

While it's nice to see she got credit (who would complain) for 'Guardian' there might be a misconception of her writing style. So some studio exec might wanna hire her thinking that her writing is as quirky as Gunn's, when it could further from the case.
