No really, it confuses the **** out of me, it didn not go through my spam filter on gmail and it showed up with all my facebook e-mails....well, here.

My name is Catherine Anderson, Am writing from the United Kingdom.
Please do
accept my sincere apologies if my mail does not meet your personal ethics. I am writing because
of the following opportunity in my office that will be of immense benefit to both of us. One of our
accounts with a holding balance of £35,100,000(Thirty-five Million One Hundred Thousand British
Pounds Sterling) has been dormant and has not been operated for the past 8 years. Though I
know that deals of this magnitude will make anyone apprehensive and worried, but I am assuring
you that all will be well at the end of the day as all arrangement has been well perfected on my
side, I actually decided to contact you due to the urgency of the immediate completion of this
transaction. I am also the branch manager of this said bank and bank Name i shall make known
to you in our further updates.
From my investigations and confirmations, the owner of this account a foreigner by name
Christian Marty (Concorde pilot) died on Monday, 31 July, 2000 along with other 109 families in
an AF4590 plane crash and since then nobody has done anything as regards the claiming of this
money because he has no family members who are aware of the existence of neither the account
nor the funds.
I have secretly discussed this matter with our Head of Operations who is also a confidant and we
have agreed to find a reliable foreign partner to stand as the NEXT OF KIN. I now seek your
permission to have you guided and presented as the relative/Next of Kin; with the assistance of a
Law firm here in the UK which has a very good business relationship with our bank, they ONLY
have the approval to handle all foreign related cases like this for our bank. Immediately all
documents are in place, funds will be released in your favor as the beneficiary's Next of Kin. .We
shall furnish you with a Swiss Account detail where you will wire our share of (69%) once the
funds clears in your bank account, 25% will be your Share, while1% will be for Any Expenses
Incurred during this Transaction and Finally 5% goes to Charity.
Please acknowledge receipt of this message in acceptance of our mutual business endeavor in your
response.
I will furnish you with the bank details and my Personal information as soon as we have a better
understanding of each other. We look forward to a successful Business Partnership.
PLEASE FORWARD YOUR RESPONSE TO THIS CONFIDENTIAL EMAIL ADDRESS

Well I'm confused......thoughts?

P.S. I am 99.99999% sure this is ******** but hey, who knows. But why the hell didn't it go into spam with all the other pain in the ass penis enlargement offers?

Umm.....

Do it?
I'll be all rich and famous like :awesome:

But really.....Why the **** isn't the e-mail in the spam section?!?!??!

EDIT: And also, I remember a few years ago my computer had been hacked into and been used for money trafficking or whatever from someone in Switzerland. So seeing that Swiss thing makes me un-easy

Because it's new. I still get some spam in my inbox.

I've been noticing more spam getting into my Inbox with Gmail recently. I wouldn't worry about it, the Swiss connection is probably just a coincidence.

I'm thinking of e-mailing this thing to the cops, see what they can dig up.

And hey, do a good thing.

Catherine Anderson from the UK?

Damn man, you didn't know her and that South African price got a divorce?

Alex, this is nothing more then spam attempting to get your details in order to rob you. As LS correctly states, stay away from it.

I get these emails from time to time and being in the sector, the situation she decribes does not exist! Plus it is not very plausible that a concorde pilot would have £35.1m in his bank account in addition that no one in their right mind would put what she states in an email (that is in writing).

I say yes, hand this over to the police. I'm sure they'll get right onto the investigation and thank you for your bravery. It won't be a waste their time nor will it make you look like a fool.

If you want to report it this is the page you're looking for:

http://www.justice.gov/spam.htm

You just forward the email you got to the email address under the category your spam fits in to. Yours would probably fit under "Financial Investments."

It's a scam. I don't think there is anything the authorities can do with it anyways. I'd just delete it.

To elaborate, this sounds like a version of the famous "Nigerian Prince" email. If you respond, they will follow up and ask you for your bank account information to "transfer" the money into your account. Of course, if you give them this information, they are just going to use it to get your money.

Cops won't/can't likely do anything. At least the local cops. Report the email to the spam link bgates posted. Also, forward the email to gmail. (Not sure the address gmail uses for spam reporting, but they'll have a page describing what to do.)

Alex, forward me the email, my Nigerian Prince money is running out, I could use another boatload of cash.

Are you really confused as to whether this is real, or not? You should be infracted for stupidity.
