Hitler kettle' sells for $199 on eBay
A kettle that looks like Adolf Hitler has sold for $199 (£130) on eBay after the kitchen appliance, which has caused a web frenzy, appeared to have sold out on the JCPenney website.

Images of a billboard advertising the kettle in California, taken by bemused motorists who noticed the appliance's resemblance to the Nazi dictator as they drove by, went viral over the weekend after they were posted to the user-aggregated website Reddit.

The Michael Graves-designed kettle originally sold for the comparatively reasonable price of £35 via the JCPenney website - but by yesterday, after tales of its appearance took the web by storm, it appeared to be out of stock.

Last night the kettle popped up on eBay, where it appeared at least one user had been quick to cash in, offering multiple kettles for sale. "IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND RED HOT," read the description on one.

One of the kettles sold for $199, while others had reached bids of $185 and $180.

JC Penney told The Daily Telegraph yesterday that the resemblance was "certainly unintended".

C'mon the hairstyle, mustache, salute.... How can anyone think it doesn't look like Hitler? If I saw that billboard without knowledge of this comparison, I'd still think it looks like him. I'm surprised no one caught this.
