The bi-monthly sequal to Kick-Ass is finally here! Check out the Preview here!

I like the direction it's heading towards. The man with the dog should definatly call himself the Rorschach man! :oldrazz::awesome:

It seems like JRJR is putting all of his effort into Kick-Ass instead of Avengers. Marvel needs to put a better artist on that book.

I haven't seen his work on Avengers lately I only got the first few issues and had to drop it due to money issues. However, his pencils in Kick Ass 2 # 2 were really great.

The series seems all right so far. Seems to be getting off to a very slow start.

The colorist is helping a lot making it look more vivid but his art is way better than Avengers.

Millar told CBR in an exclusive first interview on his upcoming slate of books. "The first is a spinoff from 'Kick-Ass,' and it's called 'Hit Girl.' It's going to be drawn by a guy named Leandro Fernandez. He's an amazing artist, and he kind of works in a style similar to Eduardo Risso. So this is Hit Girl in her own ongoing book because I found that as I was writing the 'Kick-Ass' comic, Hit Girl would almost take it over because she was so much fun to write. When I was writing 'Kick-Ass 2' I found myself just desperate to write Hit Girl, but I had to force myself to give Kick-Ass as many scenes as possible because it was his book. So since I had so many ideas for Hit Girl that I couldn't fit into one book, so I've just spun it off into a solo title. It made perfect sense. Everyone coming out of the movie or reading the comic just wanted more Hit Girl, so you needed more stories of her. The first issue of that will be out in September from Icon."

So JrJr isn't doing Hit Girl but just Kick-Ass 2.

Leandro Fernandez is amazing. He's got the experience with violence from Punisher MAX.

PS. Not sure if it's okay to post this picture with the B word on it, if it's not okay please Mod(s) remove it! :)

I tell you man, Millar is a genius at promoting his projects.

#1 comes this September.

Advance Preview: Kick-Ass #3

Also the article claims #4, #5 and #6 will all come on a strict 6-weekly schedule now, i'll wait and see if this is true 1st however. :p Oh and KA2 is selling like buckets and going constantly on reprint.

It also sucks ass. When it comes back, I won't be there. It's been a big disappointment.

Issue 1 was great, issue 2 was pretty disappointing. Kind of sad it felt like filler when it is only a 6-issue run with 4-6 months between issues, at that.

I'm still bummed there is no sequel by Vaughn happening as that was much better. With that said, I'll be buying this issue. If HG doesn't show up now in KA2 to make room for a new HG comic though, I'm gonna be even more disappointed.

P.S. I flipped through the TPB of Nemesis (which Millar started at the same time as KA2!) at a bookstore a few weeks ago. It was shallow, lame and made KA2 look like a masterpiece. I think Millar's ego is destroying his writing these days.

Holy crap. It's about time the next issue came out. I was beginning to wonder if this book was just going to fall through the cracks. I had already preordered Kick Ass # 4 in my DCBS shipment back in January! :wow:

Thank you. The original idea for Kick-Ass in concept sounded interesting:

Story One: Hero(es)'s origin
Story Two: Villain escalation
Story Three: All grown up and the consequences that follow

But I'm worried now HG won't show up in KA2 at this rate if we're three issues in with her not doing much of anything. Also, if KA3 is supposed to be a more mature story about the repercussions of that lifestyle, I hope Millar can write it. He's written more serious stuff before, but after Nemesis and the direction KA2 is taking....I do wonder.

You should check out Superior to get your faith in Millar restored, it's his Superman/Captain Marvel comic book. Nemesis had flaws, especially with the ending. Kick-Ass 2 has been very slow paced, but the build up on villain escalation and Dave being part of Justice Forever team is intriquing.

Hit-Girl volume 1 is suppose to bridge between 1st and 2nd volume of Kick-Ass, and the 2nd volume with Kick-Ass 2 and 3.

CBR Interviews Mark Millar & John Romtia Jr

- CBR News: Guys, it's been a while since we've seen new issues of "Kick-Ass 2" on the stands, but as I understand it, there's been a change in scheduling that will allow the book to get back on a regular schedule. What can you tell us about what's been going on and where we go from here?
Mark Millar: What's happened is that Johnny is under contract at Marvel to produce a certain number of issues for the Marvel Universe. That's eaten into the time he has to do "Kick-Ass," but fortunately, he's managed to stockpile some issues and get a break so he can do his own stuff and finish "Kick-Ass 2." What's brilliant is that, instead of two issues a year, which is what we've had the last couple of years, we're going to be on a very strict six-week schedule. It won't deviate from that at all, because a plan has been carefully worked out with Marvel to make sure we never have any further problems.

- John Romita Junior is illusturating both Kick-Ass 2 and Hit-Girl 1.
- Romita blames himself for the delays alone with the Avengers work, but now he should be free to get these done.
- Red Mist's new name is the Mother ****er oh lord this F word is getting sensored anyhow, so i'll keep calling him Red Mist. :p
- Red Mist will appear in Hit-Girl.
- Red Mist does the first supervillain act, i guess it's a live streamed terrorist attack or something?

Some preview art, introducing Red Mist's very own Harley Quinn, which i believe was Christopher Mintz-Plasse's suggestion to Millar:

#3 out tomorrow who's getting it? i know i'll be at the comic shop at like 5:30 a.m. 3 hours before my school starts

Aye, I can't really afford to be buying comics, but i never miss this book...spoilers ahoy btw...

I am a bit pissed they killed off Old Sarge, they did big him up like he was going to be the main new character in the series, so finding out that was just for a sh death to have impact was a disapointment. Although, y'know, it did work, they got me thinking he was going to be this Punisher type vigilante who KA would butt heads with over his methods, and then they show him up to be a nice guy who does not even load his guns(although he does train his dog to bite guys in the nuts), so I am pissed they killed him off and felt sad when he bought it. I was looking forward to seeing how his relationship with KA developed.

and aye, Hit-Girl will be returning, we know that for sure now, I didn't think he wouldn't have her feature in this book, it seemed like the classic 'hero ignoring the call, but you know they will be back' build up.

and I posted this theory up in the 'last comic you bought' thread, I guess this is kinda obvious, although, y'know, I might be wrong, lol...

I think i have figured out who the undercover super-villan in the 'Justice Forever' gang is, who grassed on the fact the sarge does not carry any bullets in his gun...that female superhero who helps the prostitutes on thier way, see, she is all helpful with the talk with them in front of Kick-Ass and his wee pal, but when the other heroes are out of sight, and one of the prostitutes waves goodbye out the window with a 'thanks', she just stands there with a blank expression on her face, as if she doesn't give a sh** about them really.

So, with that all coming together, I guess the attack on KA's house will take place next issue, as of course he blurbed out his real name in front of that super-villan.
