Xbox Killer Instinct

Grand finals was a Sabrewulf mirror match.

No surprise there... Wulf needs to get nerfed...

Haha.

Gamers will forever be complaining about 'nerfing'.

I think from now on, nothing, ever, in any game should be 'nerfed'. I think the other items around it should get a boost. Just say no to nerfing.

Agreed. I've always loved Wulf.. And once again ES my best fighter.

Yeah, I just turned into one of "those guys". :csad: Still, buffing everyone else still means the dog becomes less effective, thus being nerfed.

I mean if something legitimately needs a power decrease then sure it should be done, but typically people complain about 'nerfing' an item or character simply because they got beat by said character/item. Its diluting the term IMO.

Look at any multiplayer game and within its launch week, you'll have a thread, somewhere calling for X item to be nerfed. The most recent example i personally came across was with Titanfall, when during the first week of launch, someone wanted the first patch to include a nerf for the carbine because "It shouldn't be allowed to kill me while im running across the map".

Ahh I see what you're saying now. I didnt have an issue with Wulf in the beginning, but over time there was an overused tactic players would use that was damn near impossible to overcome even if you knew it was coming. Its that slide move into the Eclipse move. It's nigh unblock able and Wulf players use it with little to no consequence. It's an easy fix, I'd suggest adding 2-3 frames of start up on the Eclipse. that way, it gives the defender a reward for punishing such a predictable tactic *if* they see it coming. As it is, it's hard to stop even with foresight.

Yea and that makes sense. Things like that will slip between the cracks, especially in these fighters. Scorpion had a similar issue in Injustice that needed to be addressed.

I often wonder what the take is when winning a SF EVO tournament.

Hmm...what's that about 9000 take home? Still, winning random Gamestop tourneys ain't gonna cut it. I may have to actually get serious about trying to qualify for these big name events.

Yea give or take.

I think EVO is just, you pay a fee, you get entered, theres no real "qualifying".

Maya's BACK for KI Season 2

What we know:

"As you can tell from the picture, she retains her twin daggers, and they form the heart and soul of her offense this time around. Named "Temperance" and "Vengeance," they are used in all of her punch-based normals. She can throw each of them independently, and rapidly after each other, catching them as they rebound off her opponent to continue her assault. If she whiffs with a knife throw completely though, she'll lose access to all its associated moves until she retrieves it, limiting her options considerably.

The reward for taking that risk can be huge though. The blades level up with consecutive hits, gaining new properties as long as you don't miss a throw. Apparently at their highest level, you can combine the two blades, and throw them out as a giant, homing, unblockable projectile. I'm smiling just thinking about the possibilities."

As is always the case with new Killer Instinct characters, she'll also be getting her own stage, called City of Dawn. It bears a lot more resemblance to her original digs than she does to her original KI 2 counterpart. Like TJ Combo's stage, Maya's has a story to tell, but no details were given, since they apparently tie in to the greater overall arch of Season 2's plot."

Still remember playing that first SNES KI and being blown away. Couple of months back fired it up and it still held up. Great soundtrack.

All the EVO footage got me excited to play this online. Got my ass whooped twice and remembered why I don't do online matches lol.

To get competitive, you need a wired connection, and a monitor with a fast refresh rate. Playing online with a big screen and a wireless is...well...lets just say you're going to have a hard time lol.

Killer Instinct Classic 2 for Xbox One outed by Game Rating Board

A Korean Game Rating Board submission (via NeoGAF) named "Killer Instinct Classic 2" as an upcoming release for the Xbox One, suggesting that Microsoft is planning a port of the 1996 arcade game Killer Instinct 2.

Microsoft previously bundled a port of 1994's Killer Instinct with its Xbox One reboot issued last year. The retitled Killer Instinct Classic was available as a free bonus for players who purchased Killer Instinct's Ultra Edition and boxed Pin Ultimate Edition.

Developer Iron Galaxy Studios revealed earlier this month that Killer Instinct 2 star Maya will join Killer Instinct's playable roster this fall as part of its second season of content. Microsoft has not confirmed Killer Instinct Classic 2's existence or a release date, but given the publisher's previous release schedule for Killer Instinct content, the port could surface as part of a second-season bundle.

Still can't get over how good and much improved Maya looks.
